Nemesis has plans for a JK2 based movie film'd in game via demos called "Invasion of the JA". He's looking for a cast, and 2 cameramen/women. One of our students, Nova Loaf is heading up a JO single player mod called called Star Wars: Jedi Apprentice, and is looking for help. Here's the message he sent me:
A new SP mod for Jedi Outcast called "Star Wars: Jedi Apprentice", is starting up and currently have next to no staff. We are looking for talented members of the community to join the Crew and help make this a mod to remember. The story follows a young Jedi Padawan, Rendar Detalan and his Master, Jek-Sin Shen'rye as they are forced into conflict before the Clone Wars when their Vessel is attacked... Just a quick heads up; I am currently EXPANDING the Jedi Academy. You guys asked for more and you will get more, but keep in mind I will not be putting everything into the JA. It has a theme and I will stay true to that theme. I finished most of my sketches for the final "lost temple arena" opppss I mean... yeah...
Anyways, expect MORE Jedi Academy real-estate soon. PS - I've been spending some time on the servers; observing the playing habits/patterns and I have modified what you guys like to call the "matrix room" and I have also cleared the 3 platform room to make way for a new design. (I never did like that room anyway! Blame DJ and Doobie for that) hehehehe 
I'll have some preview screenshots sometime this week or possibly weekend. -D |

If you rmemeber our news abut a JA recreational map a while back... the map author Preadator Kallata'n wants to know your thoughts on this project. Namely is there a demand for this map in the Academy? Should he continue? If so what do you want to see in the map? Post your feelings on this issue as news comments or email Preadator directly please. |

Zip and Datheus bring us this little gem if you'd like to play JO online sabers in the 1st person:
There's a cvar called cg_fpls. Setting it to 1 will enable 1st person saber combat. Setting it to 0 will set you to the default 3rd person combat. It may help to bind a key to toggle this.. eg: bind x toggle cg_fpls Thanks for the tip! |

Sorry about any inconvience! I had to take the server down for a few hours, but everything is all back to normal and the server is back online! There might be an ip address change happening on Thursday. I will let everyone know tomorrow if this will happen Thursday or not. |

Some people have been a bit confused about the new rankings, and I admit I got a little wordy as I wrote the FAQ, so here's a short and sweet clarification (thanks DJ!):
To be a Learner petiton the nearest 2 JATs to trial you (just not yet, the procedures aren't in place). To be a Journeyman you'll need to (assuming you're a learner) fill out an application which we review. To be a Knight the JATs will have to recommend ya. |

Just a quick note... we're no longer going to be using the Jedi Council map, at least not until we get a version that actually works. That is all. |
