Hell has finally frozen over, and the Council has finally gotten around to updating the rankings. That's right, there's a whole slew of new ranks out there for you to look forward to. Interested? Click Here to read them. All students are initiates by default.
Now, before things get out of control, let me clarify something you might not understand from the FAQ... do not request trials (unless the description specifically says so). That is the worst way to get promoted. Promotions are meant for members we see who deserve it, not for people who ask the most. Please don't flood the JATs and JACs with trial requests. Also, the exact questions and trial proceedings haven't been finalized by the Council yet, so there won't be any promotions for a few days until we can get that stuff done.

Ladies and gentleman things are getting out of control. Conduct on the servers lately has been atrocious and unnecessary. The Council and I have been receiving FAR too many complaints of people breaking the rules on the servers. I've already lowered the warning limit to two a few weeks ago, and I'd rather not lower it to 1 (aka insta-ban). From now on I expect and demand everyone to follow the rules. If this doesn't occur, I am fully authorizing those JATs with admin access to temporarily ban rulebreakers (after attempting to defuse the situation without a ban) until the situation can be discussed with me, DJ, or Daina. Hopefully this threat, and yes it is a threat, will be enough to get EVERYONE (including trainers) to follow all of the rules and respect everyone else on the server. Because to be honest, the only other alternative I have is to temporarily shut down the Academy's servers, which is something I definitely do not want to do.
UPDATE - One thing I forgot to mention is this: If you feel someone has been breaking the rules, first try and find a JAT on the servers or on IRC, so they can help deal with the situation. Since there are obviously more of them than there are Council members (and they're generally online more often), they're your best bet if you want something immediately done. Although the Council members may idle in IRC, a lot of the time we're not there, so try and talk to a JAT first.

Emperor Lightning, one of our original server hosts, has turned off the lights in his server and made his exit. He departs, amongst other reasons, to concentrate on school, but leaves everyone with this note: "People need to concentrate on school more, it is vital. Instead of JAing all the time, make sure you concentrate on your schooling... even DJ is busy with it!"

I have just banned a member of the Academy for offering to give both the server passwords and the RCON/admin passwords to a non-member. This will NOT be tolerated by any members of the Academy, and is grounds for an instant ban. If the Council even here's RUMORS of something like this occuring, we will be quick to punish the person. We work hard to maintain a fun, civil atmosphere for our members to play in, and if the passwords to the servers were free for everyone, there would be no point in having passwords, and no point in running the Academy. So this is a warning to everyone, keep the passwords inside the Academy, and use common sense.

Yep, and it's really really fast too. Huxley, a new member of the Academy, has graciously donated his machine (well, one of his business's machines) to the Academy for us to use as a server. It's based in Kansas, and take it from me, it flies... so start using it!

Academy newbies rejoice! We now have a Frequently Asked Questions portion on our site. The most common questions we get from the new folks are answered there, so head there if you're unsure! If you want something added to it please post a comment to this story or email us.

The Creations Server will be fully online by Friday, but the hard drive that contained most of the neat Jedi Academy files like skins and maps are all gone. This is a call to all members that can assist me in updating the server content. Please Contact me through IRC/email/MSN/ICQ. Also if you guys have any suggestions for the server feel free to post

I normally don't post stuff like this since the Jedi Academy is clan neutral... but Manto B'lred, the leader of LAMM, a clan made up of a lot of members of the Jedi Academy, is looking for a new master that's based in America.
