For those who have been hiding in a hole for the last 4 years, the Jedi Knight series is dead. We will keep hosting JK3 servers for the forseeable future, but there is no denying that JK3 has run its course, and there is no JK4 on the horizon.
The Force Unleashed is not the game we have been waiting for. Holding out for JK4 would be foolish optimism at this point. This leaves us with a problem - where do we go from here? I'm throwing this out to the community. This will be in no way binding or indicative of what we will do, but I *do* want to gather feedback from you guys. What do you want to see from us? - a SWGEmu server? - a TOR (The Old Republic) community? Any, and all, *sensible* suggestions will be considered. Post with your ideas and reasoning. I personally want to see the servers have activity more than anything from TJA. If it moved to another game it wouldn't be the same anymore.
This academy needs a better class of criminal and I'm going to show it to them. lol. I can bring activity back as long as you bow before MY power. Okay all kidding aside. If everybody starts going on the server it'll live. I'm willing to play with the TJA oldies. I run a clan in JKA too so time will have to be divided between Real life. Clan and TJA. I'm willing to make sacrifices to be on TJA but I can't be the only one. Does anybody hold classes anymore or is the hierarchy entirely vacant? also on a side note I live in U.S. so my timing may be off to those of Europe but I'll come on as long as others will.  _______________ New -[DE]- Site. |

Hardcore SW boys without balls? You might say so, but JKA is more than just a game... For me it is tool for meditation... and I always find activity, whenever I become active... Hello everyone!
Damn it has been a long time. I kinda lost track while playing so many other games I own. I've never been able to play a single game very long, with the exception of RPG's. And I mostly prefer singleplayer games. Anyway when I finished the singelplayer of jka I tried the multiplayer. (First against bots) and I kinda liked it. When I joined the academy had so much fun that I kept playing it from time to time. I stopped and started playing a few times. You know how it goes, eventually you get tired of doing the same thing and the low activity doesn't help it. Fear no more though because I will be playing again! Although I'm having exams soon, I completed the jka singelplayer a second time during exams too. I even joined tja in the exam period. I'll monitor the site daily from now on and hop on IRC every day. Not that it will help activity much but I want to play it nevertheless. Okay so much for that news.
Now about tja's future. Every beginning has it's end, that's true and the tja's jka3 period is ending now. Like others have said before. But this just means that it's time for something new. I suggest we keep tja focused on SW games/mods though. Though I would like to play some other games with you guys too. Remember L4D Masta and Vision? We totally should do that again! So here are my suggestions for games: Games -SWGemu: I like SWG a lot! Especially the Jump to Lightspeed expansion. And it would be absolutely awesome to play it with this community. -SWTOR: Would be nice to play with this community but I probably won't be playing it due to monthly fees and because I don't have a job or anything. Plus space looks bad compared to SWG. While the graphics are charming I don't think they fit the SW universe. -Battlefront 1&2: Fun games especially the second with the spacebattles. Would be fun to play from time to time but there aren't much possibilities if you know what I mean. Mods -SW: The New Era(Source engine): Probably the best bet, this mod merged with moviebattles source and they recently started working on it again.(link) -First Strike(Battlefield 2142): Seems like a good alternative for battlefront.(link) -Galactic Warfare(COD4): Very good graphics, true first person shooter.(link) -SW: Spec-Ops(CSS): Showed potential but appears to be dead.(link) Well there you have it. As you can see I keep track of a lot of games/mods. I'll let you guys know when something big happens. There's one thing left to say though. None of these mods are even close to the JK series experience, exept SW:TNE which might include a similar saber system. I am surprised that no one of the huge jk fanbase has taken the time to make jk4 in an opensource engine. I've been planning on modding/making a game myself for a long time and jk4 is one of the things I would want to make. If there isn't a jk4 in the next few years I might search a team and start on it myself. Anyway I think I've said enough for now! Take care and see you on the server! ,

Well, hi all. It's been a while. I thought I'd pitch in my thoughts, as everyone else seems to have done so.
First, and most important, we need an active community here. If half the people who complained about inactivity focused the energy they expend on complaining into being active, we wouldn't have half the problem with activity as we do have. Also, I'm at fault for complaining just as much as anyone else. Second, and equally important, we can't forget our roots. We should support JKA (and if possible, JKO) until the day dedicated servers no longer give us the option. When they stop giving us that option, we should support JKA/JKO by running our own server. One is all we need. Third, we should consider expanding our horizons. Do we want to exclusively support Star Wars games? Do we want to exclusively support PC gaming? I see lots of talk about expanding to other PC games, but what about other systems. There are at least 5 other consoles that games are created for regularly. Just some food for thought. Where do I stand on the topic of TOR? Behind it. One thing is certain... no matter where we expand to, we need to keep in touch. For that to happen, taking on the title of "guild" or "clan" might be necessary. Don't be afraid of words.
