My answer: Yes! the only thing we differ on is the acceptance of it as a part of the game. as i understand it, their are "code rules" that underly the game. the problem is, the coders didn't cover all their bases. there are gaps within the system itself that break the basic ground rules i guess. so by doing certain things in the game these "code rules" can be broken, one camp calls this exploits. the other camp accepts it as part of the game. if it can be done within the game itself, it's not an exploit one group would say. there are far too many things in the game that were either not coded right or break the foundational code rules for me to be comfortable with starting a list of exploits (as some of the saber types themselves are not "coded properly"  .i do understand how and why an extension is an "exploit". but also know that if you ever hit someone with your saber as you're moving, jumping, or turning your mouse you are to some degree exploiting the underlying velocity engine as well. so in closing, please be careful with what accusations you make. as you may be exploiting yourself and not even know it. _______________ this is the internet, be serious damn it! |

lol sauce I don't really care to discuss what is an exploit and what is not/what the saber system should be and what it is. None of this will get us anywhere. All I'm saying in my post is lets not be so critical of eachother because of moves in a game. Some people will use certain moves and others will not. I just don't think it's right to cast another in a poor light because of it. |

Hahaha. It's laughable how far some of you people will go to defend your exploits. You think I'm calling them bad out of opinion? You think it's just a theory? Two years of research, analyzing the game's source code and conversing with programmers are what led me and a few others to our conclusions based on facts. You people don't realise that for the most part, we're the same. Is it dumb that extensions are actually exploits? Instead of just waiting for that to come and discussing it, you decide to make more posts whining about this and that, stirring up things here and there. Excellent post Tido, wish I would have the skills in English to write down my thoughts like that. I fully agree with u and Sol, people are far too paranoid about sabering in this place. And yeah, calling someone an exploiter will give him a bad reputation, thats just the thruth. This whole situation didnt exactly do my name any good, but if one judges me by the fact that someone with a certain opinion has called me an exploiter, then that just tells me enough about that individuals own character. Form your own opnion about aiming the saber, and judge a person by his character, not the way he swings his saber. (life-lessons ftw) I simply dont care what people use against me ingame, Ill just stick to my own style and try to beat em. His example is useless because it assumes that #1 the guy isn't cheating, and #2 you only have 2 courses of action. That's not the case. And along with that, how do you know that they haven't broken the rules just because you think the tactic is fine. This is a worthless argument anyways. I'm sick of all the crap with exploits. I'm sick of seeing people whining about them. I'm sick of people defending them. You want to play the game play the game. You don't want to fight exploiters don't fight them. You want to say someone is an exploiter, say they're an exploiter. You want to moan and groan because people won't duel you because all you do is exploit after exploit, tough luck. You want a real inspirational life lesson? You're going to do stuff in life that a lot of people aren't going to like. I don't think anyone would disagree with you except in this case no one is cheating or breaking a law. If we were talking about a wallhack, an aimbot, or such then there would be no discussion. But Avalon was just trying to be accurate and have good aim with his saber. He was completely within the bounds of the game (or he wouldn't be able to do it). Even if he was wiggling or swaying, that's how jk3 is made. We can't change it. Calling someone a cheater simply because you can't beat them within the boundaries of the game isn't the example the JA should be setting. Buzz, as a leader in this community (regardless if you play or not), labeling someone a cheater who isn't just because you don't agree with the outcome or simply don't like facing that kind of challenge isn't....well it isn't what any of us hoped for.  |
