You wanted me to prove that your life lesson was useless due to your inability to show all examples. Since you wanted me to do YOUR work for you, I finished it off with my own tactic that holds no merit. That loaded question falls into the same category of what you did? Was it harsh, yes? To go along with what Mr. 3th and Sauce stated, this community is built upon respect. Hating doesn't get anything done, just makes the situation worse. I found these two quotes to be pertinent to the situation at hand.

It's hard to have a good argument concerning something such as exploits because people have different definitions for what an exploit is. One side tends to make that definition apply to more than what the other side considers it to be.

However, there is one thing that you can do. Counter these "questionable moves." As mentioned below, a staff member or another experienced player can give you a couple of tips regarding what to do against users of such "questionable moves." A large amount of players on other JA servers outside the Academy use such "questionable moves" as a key component of their saber combat. Being immersed in an environment where these "questionable moves" is considered to be accepted gives you your best chance of learning how to adapt your style to counter such "questionable moves." Use what you learned from the Academy and apply it to different situations.

Of course, this application will take time. At first, it may seem hopeless and frustrating. I remember getting pretty angry a couple of times myself

. Keep at it! Tweak your style. Think of this as a challenge. Address the problem, come up with possible solutions, and test them! I believe Tido mentioned before that he became a better duelist by dealing with these users of "questionable moves" as challenges to overcome. Note, as you get better at this, you'll see a greater amount of ragequits.

But guess what?! Christmas is around the corner! Don't let this topic create enemies. Jedi Academy is an old game that we all seem to share an interest in. Let's enjoy this year's holiday season

I think I've calmed down enough to say that I'm sorry you guys all had to witness my post before. Alot of you know I'm a pretty laid back, easygoing guy, but when people make such a big deal out of nothing, that's a major peeve. Yeah, the profanity wasn't needed, and I apologise for that. But also, think about what I said. I mean really think about it. It makes sense, does it not?

Fur actually put accross a very good point. Although we don't condone profanity, either, what he says really can't be ignored.

The fact of the matter is that things that the Jedi Council consider to be exploits are, and will always be illegal in official JA tournaments.
Your complaining really won't do anything to change this, it will always be.

But I don't think the real problem is with this. I think it's with the actual term "exploiter". It's become a sort of belief that if you say that a person uses exploits, you are calling them cheap or lame.
This isn't always the case as alot of people don't know that what they're doing can be considered an exploit, so they aren't at fault.

Aren't you just getting sick and tired of this whole "exploits" thing now and wish people wouldn't keep throwing it in eachother's faces and making a mountain out of a mole hill?

You can progress further without actually resorting to using exploits yourself. If you really want to train against them, you can do one of two things: Go to a public server where people use them, or ask someone on the JA servers who can use them kindly if they'll train with you.

For those of you who think people call moves exploits just because they lose to them, I highly doubt that's the case. If something's an exploit and you're using it, people are telling you, not to say anything about your character, but to make you realise that you're using a move that exploits the game engine, and that you can fight just as well without them.

Some confusion that has been going around recently is about what moves exactly are exploits. This should be cleared up soon. Just give it some time.

Oh, and, please calm down a little guys. I know this isn't an easy subject to be calm throughout, but it'd be nice if it were as civil as possible.

First off. This is ridiculous, it is just a game. If you do not like to sploit, then don't fight people who sploit; that simple. Now, if this were a hack that was being used i would understand, but the GAME ALLOWS IT. If you don't like what the game allows then you should not be playing, that simple. This is a game for fun, grow up and stop being babies about it. Sauce,,,What a frightening observation,but however sad or angering to hear VERY true.I think its about time as damn civil human beings to GROW UP. The reason why these exploit threads pop up so often is because nothing ever gets resolved in the previous ones. People just can't seem to logically and respectfully present their views. Often times, a few people would just lose their cool and say "shut up" and the thread would be locked when the situation escalates. Nothing is accomplish. There's no dialogue between the two sides. No one is listening to the other side.

In these kind of threads, I think people get so caught up in trying to prove their point they fail to realize that it may be impossible to convince the other party. But that's something you have to accept.

The academy is or should be a place of learning and threads like this one, if they can be kept civil, is very educational. People sharing their ideas, opinions, and experiences is what binds a community together. And it has in those happy i love u all kinda threads. But many times, touchy threads such as this down seems like it pulls us apart.

All of a sudden people are telling other people off, questioning their intelligence, telling them to stfu. It's like we all hate each other almost. And it's pretty sad.

Erm. How many active people are in this community? How many people play jka? How many people write posts about jka? We share something pretty unique i say; a special bond if you will. And yet we can't even talk peacefully about a game.

I have a best friend of 12 years and we disagree on just about everything from anime, girls, music, movies, sports to anything you can imagine. yet never had we any anmosity towards each other because of our disagreements. It's just silly to fight with ur friends; the people that have ur back. not that we're all friends here. i am a sworn enemy of tallepyon, WoW paladin lvl 60 stormrage (go gank him plz).

yeah maybe we can pretend we like each other before we make our posts. i find that it helps me clear up my intended message quite a bit.

This is assuming of course they understand how to use this movement to gain advantages in a duel, vs any opponent they may come accross... be it a 'pro' staffer, efficient poker, etc. Besides, if you frown upon exploiting, and what you consider to be an exploiter defeats you, then does their victory mean anything (and your loss)? Shrug it off, and learn to defeat it. It can be done.
