Jedi Knight 3 has been officially named Jedi Knight: Jedi Academy.
Game Features Revealed In Star Wars Jedi Knight: Jedi Academy, you will be able to create your character as well as construct your own lightsaber from handle to blade color! Star Wars® Jedi Knight®: Jedi Academy™ allows players to immerse themselves in the classic Star Wars universe as they take on the role of a student eager to learn the ways of the Force from Master Luke Skywalker. Players will interact with famous classic Star Wars locations and characters while facing the ultimate choice: fight for good and freedom in the light side or follow the path of power and evil to the dark side. Players can create their own characters by defining various characteristics, such as species, gender, clothing and physical attributes allowing for a more personal experience before entering the academy to learn the powers - and dangers - of the Force. Construct your own lightsaber from handle to blade color. Utilize two if you prefer or try the ultimate dual-bladed lightsaber made famous by Darth Maul. Unique tiered level selection allows players to choose their adventure and the missions they take based on the skills they need to become the ultimate Jedi Knight. Additional multiplayer modes add depth to the Dark Forces/Jedi Knight legacy. Players can partake in a variety of unique modes. In relation to names - The game name is a product name the only worry that may occur in relation to this is the possibility of trademarking - if this situation was to occur - (and it's likely that they would trademark their game, title and symbol) we would have to get permission to use it - and then we would have to conform to how they lay it out graphically (or at least acknowledge that academy is they're trademark with the TM (unregistered trademark) or (R) retail mark for registered (you know the R in the circle thing  - The likelihood of Lucasarts or raven alienating such a large proportion of their community by creating an issue out of this is sooooo small...
...plus everybody loves us  - we could always preempt them and trademark the name ourselves  _______________ Support bacteria, they're the only culture some people have. |

I took a business law class a dew years ago.
If i remeber correctly .... Companies like Cisco (routing) and Sysco (styrofoam) are named so closely that niether could enter the others make w/o serious legal problems. But u and lucas arts are not in the same market, u arent in any market. ok heres my thing, WE were out here a hell of a lot longer then they knew they were going to name the Game jedi knight: jedi academy. Also, they wouldn't shut us down, tehy would simply tell us to change our name or somethin. Not sure what, but it could be done. so will the JA transfer into JK:JA? its gonna be weird saying i'm going to go play in the JA servers on JA game lol. I hope it transfers

I don't think they've got a case against this place's name. We're THE Jedi Academy. The game is Jedi Knight: Jedi Academy. Big deal right? Well I'm from Ohio. And I go to THE University of Toledo. "the" is actually in the name. Its the same for The Ohio State University. When you are really saying those colleges' names you have to include the in it. Where as other schools you could just say for example University of North Carolina. So I don't think that they can do much. Wouldn't they have done something about the websites with Jedi Outcast in the name or even Jediknightii.net itself.
