Mace Windu just let me know that he has decided to step down from his role as Jedi Knight and return to being a good ol' fashioned student. Here's what he has to say: "I've gone through good times here at the JA, and bad. I have met new friends and made wonderful realationships. And most important of all, this place has made me feel like I am part of one big family, and loving, caring, family. My school work is killing me, and taking up most of my time. And now with baseball practices everyday, and 3-4 hours of home work. I just do no have time anymore. I hope and pray that everyone understands where I am coming from, and I hope that I have served my purpose here well, in your hearts. The JA will always be in my heart. Long live the Jedi Academy! " Now, he was originally going to retire completely (or so it seems), but he had a flash of brilliance and realized that he shouldn't retire. Everyone give Mace a hearty pat on the back for his great work as a Knight, and tell him he made the right decision in not completely retiring! |

Well, we at the Holocron have assembled one crack team of people. Still, we are recruiting for articles, such as new non-saber weapons from JK:JA, Power Duels (the game mode), and Saber Staff. Oh, and we'll need editors  .So if you're interested in helping with any of these things, simply contact myself or Lord Exar Kun, and we'll get you something to do! |

As you can tell there is a new background color. Hope ya'll like it.  I've redone the menu to use css positioning so the drop down menus are aligned properly. A drop down menu bug in Mozilla based browsers in Solaris should be fixed (thanks, Fizz). The front page at least is now 100% real deal XHTML 1.0 complaint. See nerd++ images at the bottom of the page. The sites that are hosted on this server are now linked to. Notice that all but one of them are anywhere near complete. Get to work!  If you still see the old color or images please hit shift + refresh in your browser a few times to reload the site. The new pics will come. One bug that will not go away is the "selecting text selects the whole page" bug. Those that get this bug are using a crappy browser. If you want to be able to select text and help tell those Redmond fatcats where they can stick it please switch to a non-crappy browser. As always please let me know if you encounter any problems! We've just added a few people to our Hall of Fame that we feel deserve a place and haven't been seen in a while or have retired. First and most obvious is cHoSeN-oNe, our esteemed JAC who just retired due to Real Life. Next is NofrikinfuN, who I already mentioned is going to the land of gerbil-run internet connections. Finally we have =Derelict-Crusader=, our original mapboy who did the famous Jedi_Academy maps from JK2 (I still like 2.0 the best ), and Ruuk Haviser, our former Holocron coordinator who was eaten by Real Life some months ago. Now, don't start thinking the Academy is dying because of all the retirements. We're still drawing in newbies and we're about to announce some cool stuff in the next few weeks. Viva La Academia! |

We've been sitting on this for a while and it kind of got lost in the shuffle, but our dear friend NofrikinfuN has been swallowed by the beast of RL and has retired from the Academy. Here's what he had to say: "That's right folks... I'm afraid it's time. I only have 2 months maximum left in an area with >28k connections, and will probably be very busy in the next couple months. I apologize for my recent inactivity, and honestly meant to make this announcement much sooner. I don't think I will be able to return as a Trainer, or even as one who plays at the Academy, but I do hope to stay in touch. Long live the Academy, and may the force be with you all." I speak for everyone at the Academy in wishing NFF a bon voyage and the best of luck out there in the scary real world. He of course has been given his rightful place in the Academy's Hall of Fame. And so as a beloved member of the JA community rides into the sunset, another steps up to take a bigger role in the Academy. Mune has been (finally!) promoted to Staff to serve as both Co-Holocron Coordinator (with Exar Kun, who is already a Trainer and therefore doesn't need to be staff) and as Student Orientation Coordinator. Yes that's right, the JA Student Introduction Program is finally getting off the ground and fully launched. Details will come once DJ sets the site up accordingly, but for now, congratulations to the Academy Barkeep on his promotion! |

Hey guys. We have quite a few new members since my last post on this, so I guess this is for you. If you're midbie or oldbie, read it anyways! Please consider the JA to be a clan neutral territory. You can use your clan tags if you want. Heck we want you to use your clan tags. Why be in a clan if you can't proclaim it through out the Internet? Please keep clan activities (recruiting, practice, matches, etc) off of the web site, IRC, game, and TS servers though. I'd like this place to be a place where folks from all clans can come together and train and not have to worry about clan squabbles. If you see a guy recruiting for his clan on the server please don't lame him or her. Two wrongs don't make a right. Treat it like any other rule infraction and send evidence to an admin. Well, the path of the oNe has finally come to an end. I have been here a long time and have met a lot of great people, but recent RL activities has forced me to take this kind of action. I am officially stepping down as JAC and retiring from the Jedi Academy. I want to thank each and every one of you for supporting me through it all, the good and the bad. This is my true homeland, for it taught me to grow as a person and as a programmer. If it wasn't for the JA, I probably would have never tried to create a mod on my own. I will miss you all so much and may the force be with you. I especially want to thank my closest friends: Kev, Chris, Jacen, Huxley, and Whispy for everything they have done for me. As usual everytime one of our staff members needs to step down I ask them to write a little goodbye speech. Here is Jello's: During the last few months since school started, I've lost intrest for the game. I dont know if its that I didnt have time to play, which I did sometimes, but it just lost its fun. All I do is sit around on irc poking fun at Aratan, and I dont believe that is the duty of a knight. I havent been on the servers (except for Vlad's memorial) for a good amount of time in about 2 months. I've tried to come back many times, as some of you may remember, but that lasts for about a few days and I lose it again. I've dissapointed alot of people, especially my padawans. Onion, darkwood, Kow, and Rosered are the only ones that come to mind now. I'm very sorry you guys. Well, thats it. I'm not leaving the JA for good, youll still see me on irc like usual... but no more knighthood for me. I've received word through Odan Wei that our student Vladarion's life was taken in an accident on Christmas last year. I've left details on his profile. My heart goes out to his family and friends at the Jedi Academy and elsewhere. Vladarion was a model student and the epitome of the kind of person that makes this community so great. Rest In Peace, sir. EDIT BY DOOBIE: I've gone ahead and made Vladarion our first student member of the Jedi Academy Hall of Fame. I know this doesn't mean much in the long run, but the Council, Trainers, and Knights have all feel that it's important to remember him, and we feel, in our small way, that this is a great way to do so. My heartfelt wishes go out to Kimberly and the entire Allen family. Kimberly, if you're reading this, the JA feels your loss and grieves alongside you. |
