*consultant mode on* Doing an own, hand drawn logo will cost much time and effort and the quality of such a pic is not sure (not only drawing, but scaning and editing aswell). There is a danger that it's getting old and after some weeks you will only hear some "I'm working on it" statements and nothing will happen. No offense of course, but that's the way it often goes, happens to me too. So why not take an already existing, and in my opinion very good pic? Would save much work that could be used on other projects and finishing the must-have parts first. Remeber we'll maybe not even have room for an own logo, that depends on DJ's ideas about the website. So please think about it twice before you start doing anything big. *consultant mode off*

Ha, that's what you get if you hire me ;)

I think that the Sith Holocron Marq linked to first is by far the coolest. Go for something with style like that one.

Good idea. I think a scan of Marqs hand would be much better than a holocron pic.;)

I agree with Cyb. Doing on your own is pretty hard plus needs alot of time. Most pics didnt convince me, you sometime wouldnt know it's a holocron. I still prefer the first from Marq. It's pretty cool and stylish with that blue stuff, it is clearly a holocron plus it looks quite 1337. we could maybe cut off theese rays to just the actual part... tell me what you think 'bout it.

Just one thing to add to that... u can't make a nice holocron with normal picture editing... I say u need a good 3D draw program for it and be quite skilled at 3d drawing... Dont know if anyone is able to but we could ofcourse allso pick one of the holocron posted here and edit it to how we like it...

From what I understand, Droma is going to put a bunch of pics on a server off-JA-site, so look for his link sometime soon. If I'm wrong here, buddy, correct me.

I kinda like the idea of an original Holocron. Someone want to coordinate with MoS to put a post on the main academy forum requesting volunteers for this?

Comments?

One step ahead of yah man :) Those are the first things I got, and put them in my force section under each pwoer, neutral, dark, light, saber abilities and force powerups. Having a section under each icon might get confusing, or people would wonder why we used some and not others.

I'm expecting each section to have its own main picture, just so it looks nicer and all slots together. So for the guns section, something like a crosshair or a target or the picture used to specify servers with the jedi vs merc mode, for movement, something like a square of 4 arrows pointing up down left and right and for the saber section a rabbit :D (not really :D)

What could I use for my force section.....

Please respond to the following idea:

I have found pictures of the little force icons (the little squares you can toggle with z and x)

We've got blue, green and red ones.
What if we attached an icon to each chapter or part of the holocron project? It doesn't have to have anything to do with the forcepower it signifies, it's just for artistic reasons.

What about it?

That twelve sided, purpley kinded one is the one I've seen most. Its in on of the star wars visual dictionarys.

If we do go with a hand drawn one, its gotta be proper good, no cartoony kinda thing (like some of the pics) but almost like a proper photo. Praps if its made in some graphics program, need a skilled person though.

I think Ulic has hit upon something there. How about an original Holocron designed by a student of the Academy? Wouldn't that be more appropriate?
I'd do it myself but I'm no artist.
Here's what happens when I try to think of a holocron,

I'm easily distracted.
So maybe a design a holocron competition? There's still time right?

Yes, either both or maybe the Great Holocron.:D

Deep within the Jedi temple on Coruscant the Great Holocron awaits all those students of the Force willing to learn from its vast stores of collected knowledge. Unlike some Force artifacts, the twelve-sided Great Holocron was designed specifically for ease of use, especially by young Jedi trainees. Some have speculated that even Yoda may not yet have learned all its mysteries. Regardless, it is said to be the largest and most powerful holocron in the Archives Library.

Sounds perfect:). Doesn't look too sexy though:(.
Maybe if it was a different colour or glowing?;)

Here's pics of all three,
