They'd have shook hands, said.. "WOW, did you see that, the old bugger tried to kill me... I had to kill him, otherwise who knows what would have happened, fancy going to the pub for a quick one?"... And the following three films would have never happened. Although I have thought if that did happen, and the Jedi went on continuing to train the Clones, what would happen if they accidently said Order 66?  thats soooo impossible. we are talking about a jedi master here not some whelp like luke skywalker. even then when he became angry and used that to overpower his father he regained his mind and everything was ok. i wouldnt expect a jedi master who was practising the dark power sort of shit for so long go and cry like a baby like anakin etc. _______________ playing jk3 since 30th of january (2005), member since 1st of february. THE PROPHICY!! anikin would not die, neither would mace kill palpatine cuase only anikin can bring peace to the force, (which he did in episode 6)

Mace had already invented a lightsaber form that encouraged the use of close-to-Dark-side powers (Vapaad, VII) He even had a saber colour associated with the Sith - a true Lord of the Sith could use a purple blade as a sign of his lordship, just as the Jedi council coul use that that gold-coloured metal on thier hilts.
