I fell that meny thinks they have to play Jedi Academy for staying in the academy. I know there are still servers in Jedi Outcast, but they aint used. I have talkede with meny that plays JA for getting up in the ranks and getting to know other players from the academy even tho they prefere the game JO. I just want to know. Do most of you people prefere jedi academy or are you just playing it for getting with the academy?
Im just ceriuos because i have playede JA and i really dident likede it... the game was to.... new for me... it dident have the charme as jedi outcast.... so just want to know... what do you guys prefere?

Oh just felt like informing you guys that spinning works perfectly in jk2. Poking doesnt do any additional damage since the velocity system is totally different from the jk3 one. It doesnt even matter anymore if you hit your opponent in the head or the leg since damage isnt even location-based in jk2.
Nevertheless, it does matter how often your lightsaber goes through your opponent and it will do additional damage if you spin. Occasionally even instakill. >_>

I play both and regularly take month-long vacations from one to play the other. I prefer JK2. It's simply a more solid game. The duels in JK3 are very cheesy sometimes. You don't find people leaping up into the air and spinning around five hundred times in Jedi Outcast. It's all pure dueling skill.

Carve, please have my babies. Now.

In the last half year I've come across maybe two people who spam kicks while dueling.

Unless you're talking about FFAs, in which case, get with it! Two thirds of the damn thing is kicking!

lots of ppl spam the kick off the wall(player in this case) move tho. that thingy is really abused much so its as annoying as wiggles and stuff like that.

Isn't flip-kick something that was added through a mod?

If you want to play JK2, go sit on jk2home and advertise your presence in IRC for a while, or add me to MSN and tell me, and people will join you eventually. Because JK2 really is better than JKA.

jk2 sp surely pwnz jka sp :)
i think most of us will agree with that.
speaking of mp tho both games have their downsides. jka has poking, swaying, ghost hits and hell know what else. jk2 with 50 ping it feels like playing jka with 250 ping, kick off the wall works on ppl (doh that thing does considerable dmg!).

these are my points :)

Yes indeed. So many puzzling things in Outcast, I got stuck all the time... :D

Academy was a walk in the park compared.

JK:JA single player was really poor. You think you get to choose side, but it's really nothing, except if you go dark, you get a slightly easier fight in the end and another ending.

If it wasn't for the staff and the academy, I would play outcast.

JK2...by a mile. The game play seemed so much better to me (multi-player) and dueling was a blast. JKA just never seemed to be as fun...which is why I probably quit playing it. :D
