JAE Mod 1.02 Source Re-Released -cHoSeN oNe- Apr 23 02:41pm -3 comments-
Wow, first news post in a very long time. Anyways, the last couple years the JAE mod source was unavailable due to the site hosting it is no longer in service. The good news is, I dusted off an old backup CD and uploaded the source to GitHub. You can grab the source or fork the project from the following location:

git@github.com:mjnohai/jedi-academy.git

SWTOR Free to Play: November 15th -planK- Nov 11 01:28pm -9 comments-
Just wanted to remind everyone that SWTOR is going free to play on the 15th. They're also launching a premium store that lets you buy things with "cartel coins" - if you were subscribed before, or still play, you'll get a bunch of these to spend.

So, if you didn't check out SWTOR when it launched, it's worth a look. Our guilds are on The Red Eclipse and Jedi Covenant servers.

Star Wars fans, you might want to sit down for this one — The Walt Disney Company just announced its plans to purchase Lucasfilms LTD from George Lucas, with plans to release Star Wars: Episode 7 sometime during 2015.

Oh sweet JESUS!

Blade Symphony -planK- Jun 01 07:33am -8 comments-
Hi guys! I just wanted to direct your attention to an independent game title being developed on the source engine called Blade Symphony.

In a nutshell, the game is being developed along the lines of the Jedi Outcast/Jedi Academy saber system and could serve as a successor to the JK series.

I highly recommend checking it out - it looks very promising.

Hey everyone, Doobie here! I wanted to take a second to quickly say how stoked I am that the Academy just passed its 10th birthday. I still remember the early days with JS999, DJ, and all of the other original oldbies playing JK2… as well as manually processing Academy applications by hand… which was awful. Anyway, I know I’ve been pretty much AWOL for a few years but I still love this place. I was reading the “reminiscing” thread (found here) and saw this comment posted earlier today by †Johauna Darkrider† that I felt sums up my feelings perfectly: “TJA is wonderful place, sometimes, I took steps away from it, but it's really like a home. There are paths and ways to be walked, but you always return. No matter where these paths take me, TJA is always here, when I want to see a great bunch of people.”

And now, since I can’t make a post that isn’t too long, a trip down memory road… my 50 favorite news posts ever! It’s been a fun 10 years, let’s keep this train rolling as long as possible :)

In recognition of his contributions to thejediacademy.net and his formidable in-game skill in Jedi Knight: Jedi Academy, we're pleased to announce that one of our long time Jedi Knights Masta has now been promoted to Instructor.

Thanks for all your contributions to the Academy. You're one of the good guys, and I will always appreciate all those lessons you gave me in Starcraft 2! :)
