For those who have been hiding in a hole for the last 4 years, the Jedi Knight series is dead. We will keep hosting JK3 servers for the forseeable future, but there is no denying that JK3 has run its course, and there is no JK4 on the horizon.
The Force Unleashed is not the game we have been waiting for. Holding out for JK4 would be foolish optimism at this point. This leaves us with a problem - where do we go from here? I'm throwing this out to the community. This will be in no way binding or indicative of what we will do, but I *do* want to gather feedback from you guys. What do you want to see from us? - a SWGEmu server? - a TOR (The Old Republic) community? Any, and all, *sensible* suggestions will be considered. Post with your ideas and reasoning. As far as I could tell from public TJA servers is that they are just used for random lamefests, like any public server set to FFA.

I think my next Star Wars based video game investment will be TOR. So if you guys set something up there I'll probably follow. Obviously depends on if they have seperate EU and US servers. Which they probably will. I don't like your chances of getting the Jump to Lightspeed content in SWGEmu any time soon, unless you're referring to the current edition of SWG, in which case it's the only fun part of the game!  |

If I had to choose between SWTOR or SWGEMU I would pick swg. But SWTOR is ofcourse far more popular. SWG is one of the few mmo's I like. The combat sucks like in any mmo but it has traders, player cities and decent space (unlike swtor which has arcade style spacebattles). Yeah, I played on their test server nearly a year ago and they had done quite a lot of work, but there was still some ways to go. I'm tempted to go try it out but digging out my SWG discs sounds like such a chore!
Besides, TOR will blow it out of the water. |

It's coming along really well, the OR has been live for some time I believe. I believe there has been a complete wipe as well. I've heard talk of a big announcement in the New Year, but you know how it gets delayed a lot. |

With the Jedi Knight series (Particularly JK2 and JKA) being such a huge part of the JA's history, I can't see us ever abandoning it. Even if we were to have one server running whilst also supporting SW:TOR, that would be enough. But, it goes without saying that this place kind of needs a breath of fresh air.
It's sad that we'll never relive the glory days of this place (And, for those who remember, if I'm around that's probably a good thing ) but I'm quite excited to see what 2011 holds for us. We're about to enter a new era for this place and I get the feeling it's going to be awesome.  |

From what I hear there is a closed swtor beta. Is anyone in it? I don't like the idea of tja focusing only on swtor. I think the game is overhyped and I don't like mmo's unless they have unique gameplay. Obviously we're not going to go, "WE MUST ALL BAND TOGETHER AND FORM GUILDUAL INTERCOURSE ON THIS SERVER," because that's pretty unrealistic. I'll be frolicking my nerdpeen on the RP servers (if they exist) and, well, basically everyone has different tastes. It would be neat to overhaul the site as a TOR-centric one, and to have little indicated fields specifying the user's character name and server. It'll fit the needs as long as you have Windows. As an established Mac user, I'll be the first to say that if you aren't on windows, you shouldn't be gaming anyway. As someone who plays JKA, Quake 4, Urban Terror and some others on Linux and Mac, I disagree! |
