The Russian occupation of Berlin occured due to diplomacy. The Americans were ready to drop paratroopers into Berlin and roll tanks in. They gave it to the Russians purely out of good will. Oh, and believe me, i'm not listening to propeganda, i'm listening to eye witness accounts. In fact, I was speaking to a couple of veterans yesterday at a VE Day anniversary party, and they had nothing but bad things to say about the Russian military personnel and their actions. At worst, all the British and Americans did was loot. The Russians raped, killed, and basically acted worse than alot of German soldiers did in the war (with the exception of the SS). |

Yeah, y'know, Stalin won the bar by sending undertrained conscripts against the German army. The winter won the Eastern front, not Russia, As far as i'm concerned. The actions of Russian soldiers after the war are what make me think lowly of them in that time period. They raped and assaulted alot of German citizens when Russians occupied German towns.
