Thanks. Those are good clues . I had no idea that playerState was the one to use and actually used the other ones but that was before I was giving much of anything to the client. I'll look into trap_SetUserinfo and trap_GetUserinfo too since those are new to me. I was on the verge of installing subversion earlier today but got distracted. So that's what I'll do. |

I get the max_clients thing now. What's the difference between ent->s.someThing and ent->client->ps->someThing and ent->playerState.someThing and any other ways to access player state that I might have missed? Also, I was just about to install CVS but since openCVS, the one I want, isn't out yet I'm open to new ideas. Got any suggestions on a source control system that's better than CVS? Preferably one that'll run on OpenBSD but can be accessed from Windows. |

All my stuff gets scattered around in bits & pieces since I'm learning how to do things one at a time with fresh source each time. I'm pretty disorganized too. I once learned how to do CVS as part of admining but it was a long time ago & I forget it. It would probly be a good idea to set it up, or something like it. I going to make a real effort to keep things clean and well commented and...uh...this time I really mean it! |

Tarpman I got a question for you. I'm trying to set a value, unique for each player entity, in g_cmds.c and need it acted upon in either CG_G2PlayerAngles() from cg_players.c or else BG_G2PlayerAngles() in bg_pmove.c. Whenever I try to set something it never gets communitated, whether it's some playerstate value (playerstate, s, ps) or us just a var set in a shared header file. The value is always 0 in CG_G2PlayerAngles() and/or BG_G2PlayerAngles(). Got any advice? *later that evening...* I found a spot to slide the values through.
