Oh, I see the problem. You have a mac. In that case, you have completely different file directories. Place the Academy Folder and all it's contents into: MacintoshHD/Users/(your user name whatever is is)/library/application support/Jedi Knight II MP Then, you open up your game and go to Setup, then Mods, and it should show JAMod 1.4 in the box. Highlight it, then click load mod. You application will restart, then come back up to the main menu. Once you get there, you can go to create game, and set all the settings you want, then start the server. Then, when the server is up. Type in your console (or in the server box if you are running a deticated server): /exec academy.cfg Then, you and your clients can use am commands, ect. To set the Admin passwords(you want to do this ASAP so people can't get admin): /g_madminpassword <password> /g_mknightpassword <password> That should work. My directory structure looks like this C:\Program Files\LucasArts\Star Wars JK II Jedi Outcast Then my my gamedata and base dirs like this respectively: C:\Program Files\LucasArts\Star Wars JK II Jedi Outcast\GameData\base C:\Program Files\LucasArts\Star Wars JK II Jedi Outcast\GameData Could u give me a directory list of all the same things, and do u have an equivilant to a Gamedata folder? _______________ Silent Bob (Kevin Smith): You know, there's a million fine looking women in the world, dude. Sup, No he doesnt hate you, (atleast I "highly" doubt it) but people gotta understand we all have real liife commitments also. YOU DO NOT INSTALL THIS INTO YOUR BASE DIRECTORY, if you really really really wanna I believe you can make all of the files in this mod into a .pk3 file and then place it in your base dir, but I dont recommend it the mod works great as is. Here is the best detailt desrciption of installing any version of The Jedi Academy Mod. 1.) Download JAmod1X.zip to some place on your computer. 2.) extract the .zip archive to anyplace you wish, I would recommend extracting it to somewhere other than your JK2 directory to start with. When you extract it you will see these files /academy/vm/jk2mpgame.qvm /academy/academy.cfg /academy/banIP.dat /academy/description /academy/dummy /ja_admin.cfg /JAMod.qtf /Readme.html for this mod to work you need to take the academy directory and the other 3 files and place them in the: C:\Program Files\LucasArts\Star Wars JK II Jedi Outcast\GameData\ NOTE: This only works if you installed the game to the default location, if you have choosen another spot I cant help. so now when you look at the path of these files it will look like this. C:\Program Files\LucasArts\Star Wars JK II Jedi Outcast\GameData\academy\academy.cfg C:\Program Files\LucasArts\Star Wars JK II Jedi Outcast\GameData\academy\dummy.pk3 C:\Program Files\LucasArts\Star Wars JK II Jedi Outcast\GameData\academy\jk2mpconfig.cfg Copying over the three files that were extracted OUTSIDE of the academy directory is optional so I wont go over it. This should be it, when you start jk2mp go to Setup then click on Mods, there will be an arean that will list all the mods u have installed, click on the Jedi academy mod, then click load mod. Extra: What each of the above for is for. /academy/vm/jk2mpgame.qvm - This is the mod itself, this is the file the game loads to enable of all the uber cool JA mod commands, options, and cVars. /academy/academy.cfg - If you are running a server the has the JA mod loaded on it, this file determines the mods behavior. /academy/banIP.dat - The mod has a /kickban command which will kick a client from the server and also ban them so they can never return. Before this file all the banned clients info was stored in (this is a guess) RAM, so when the server rebooted all those clients were un-banned. With this file all banned clients will stay banned unless this file is messed with. /academy/description.txt - This file is used by dummy.pk3 /academy/dummy - This file must be included if you want the mod to show up in the mods list (when you click setup then mods) This file uses whatever you have put into the description.txt. /ja_admin.cfg - This is the Admingun script, I dont use guns so I have never looked into what it is. /JAMod.qtf - This I assume is for the Qtracker which I also dont use, so I dont know what it does. /Readme.html - This is the most important file that is over looked, it contains all the admin and rcon commands, plus a changelog of all features added since version 1.0 Oh yeah it also has an installation guide........ If this doesnt help you im sorry. I hope everyone enjoyed this. I will pre-apologize for all my spelling errors. oww i see it still doesnt work  k Make SURE u placed it in the gamedata NOT in the base folder. Then make sure all the files/folders/etc. that c1 listed are in the academy map. Open the academy.cfg file make sure u place the pass between the " " and save. Then in game u typ /exec academy.cfg and it should work. DONT change the name of the .cfg file eh Owwwwwww.. wait i think i get the problem .Before u click create server make sure i loaded the mod first. You do this by going to setup in the main screen then go to mods and click Jedi Academy Mod v1.3SE. Then it should load. Go to create server make the ajustments u want for the server then click launch. In your server console on your desktop u get after u launched ur server type /exec academy.cfg. If you done this it should work fine . 1) Do not install into the base folder 2) Install Instructions. An academy folder in the gamedata directory. Also, make sure inside the academy folder are these files. 1) A vm folder with a jk2mpgame.qvm file in it 2) academy.cfg 3) dummy.pk3 4) description.txt 5) BanIP.dat 6) Readme.htm When all of these files are in, the mod should load with no problems. Open up the academy.cfg file in notepad and edit the cvars that control the passwords. After this, save the file and close it. When you get in game, open up the console and type \exec academy.cfg That will load all of your cVars and passwords you declared in the academy.cfg file. _______________ Get busy living, or get busy dying. |

HE M8 I saw ur question to C1 and maybe i can help ya out. I use the mod also and had the same prob in first. U must install it in the gamedata directory in a folder called academy. Then in that folder there should be a .CFG file open it with notepad. Then change the adminpasses to whatever you like them to be. U should find them at the very top saying Secondary Admin change the part between the " ". Then in your server console what you get when you launch ur server type /exec academy.cfg. Then if you did this all it should work fine .If it didnt work or u dont get it just leave a comment on my profile. |
