How did JA get a server with an OC-48 connection? Aren't those like 2.5 *Gbps*? Aren't they Usually reserved for the phone companies and such? Well, whatever. Some custom maps get uploaded per request of JATs who want to teach their students specific things and what not, sorry bout that. Usually the custom maps don't stay on for longer than the class duration. Today was an exception, whoever changed the map forgot to change it back! |

For everyone in the Academy, try Sleepyd's server... If you want prices on renting a game server, check out www.deviantservers.com. The price I mentioned was for companies or corporations wanting to lease the lines to their offices or datacenters. |

OC-48 is 2.4Gpbs which is I think 240 MB/s. The server has a gigabit link to the backbone, the OC-48 line itself..direct connection. Doesn't go through any resellers so it's less hops. Just to give you an idea..an OC-3 line is around $5000 to setup and $5000 a month to maintain. That's a minimum price too. |
