And after a very long wait... -Virtue - Mar 01 06:20pm

First off, I'd just like to thank everyone who came to the Prom and helped us make it a totally fantastic evening (twice). The servers were totally packed! JK3 Home got overloaded and the party spilled over to JK3 Classes - it was awesome. :D

Big love and thank you to SilkMonkey for helping to organise the event and for building this year's prom map. <3

Huge thank you also to our JA Radio DJs who made this year's prom what it was! - Zeke, SilkMonkey and Gregwarro.
You guys rock our socks!

As some of you may or may not know, we had a pretty productive JAK+ meeting last Saturday, just before the prom and there are a few changes in store for the JA. One of the most noticable will be how Classes are taught and run.
Expect an update sometime next week on exactly what's going on. :)

Now, for the next announcement - seeing as we seem to be doing things that haven't been done in years and having alot of fun with them, I may aswell let you guys know that I've finished v3. :D

It's going to be released this Saturday (3rd March) at around 8:00pm GMT.
We'll all meet in IRC again while I get the Servers and links set up and I'll broadcast the download link in there first, then we'll all head on over to whatever Server we like and check it out. :D

Thank you all for your patience while I've been building it, I really appreciate it... I really hope it lives up to the hype... I'm actually pretty nervous about releasing it. :(

Ah well... VIVA LA ACADEMIA!!

Well i gave my initial (glowing) impressions of the map last night on its unveiling.

Again, Virtue has done an incredible job making this map everything we have been waiting for all this time. Its varied, interesting, detailed, and the perfect evolution of V2.

Great work Virt, you have exceeded any possible expectations once again. /hi5

Oh and i agree that there was no need for a grand tour as such - part of the fun was just wondering around the map discovering things by yourself and occasionally bumping into people.

However having said that it would be great to see some kind of event arranged to be held on V3 soon in order to build upon some of the hype from the maps release. :)

Viva la academia!
<3 Virtue, and everyone else involved with v3.

I had fun exploring the whole map (the parts I could get into ;)), on the WP server. I had some lag there, so maybe that's why I started getting motion sickness. That and because I was Force Speed running through everywhere 'cause I couldn't wait to see it all.

It's big. Huge. I love the varied terrain, outdoor areas, and the bunker. The duel rooms I'll have to get used to. They feel a little cloistered. But if they serve their purpose, that's more important. I do miss the old duel rooms, what with the huge area, high ceilings, and upper observation decks. They were fun to just jump around in, but that's not what a duel room is really for, then, is it?

Can't wait to take some classes!

The part about the no official tour this time wasn't really mentioned anywhere except on IRC. Besides, it is rather fun to explore the bunker heh. Considering so many people were waiting for the map, yet there were still bugs in it, Virtue decided to release what he had working atm.
Yeah, figured. :p

Well, my rather blunt and forthcoming statement wasn't meant to offend anyone - and if it did, i apologize.

Obviously, i was expecting you guys to hold somesort of grand tour like with v2, and was actually looking forward to it since i really liked the idea of doing something like that. However, seeing as that was never the plan, i guess it's fine to release the beta map prematurely.

By the way, i'd appreciate it if my words wouldn't be taken out of context.

TC is more than right, some of the things you guys have been saying is disgusting. This map has been worked on for well over a year and when its practically finish all you do is moan and bitch about it.

Give the guy some gratitude, he's doing it for free and for you people!

Yes, there was a problem with the compile yesterday, but instead of delaying it further and getting people frustrated, I decided to let people have the compile that wasn't totally perfect and then fix it for an official release today.

I'm deeply ashamed of some peoples attitudes here.
I for one give Virtue (and anyone else involved) my utmost respect! I personally don't care "How" it was released, or if there was no "Grand tour" the map is bloody awesome, end of story!

I can see that a lot of thought was put in to it, and an enormous amount of work. I don't feel we deserve it, well some of us don't :)

I say "Congratulations Virtue and the rest of the team. You all have my deepest respect  "

What an anti-climax.

With the beta map out, having a grand tour wouldn't make much sense anymore because people would know the map already.
