I've been getting a lot of negative feedback on the issue of force powers in the upcoming tournament. After further consideration, I've decided that ALL neutral powers will be allowed. JUMP,PUSH,PULL,SPEED,SEEING, and of course all the saber forces. I wanted this to be as Neutral as possible so that everyone has the same opportunity for victory. The only way is for everyone to have the same abilities. I was rather disappointed because my goal is to encourage teamwork and strategy involved in CTF games, which I dont see much of. I just hope this will be satisfactory for everyone. The other issue is the timing of the tournament. I've tried to make a time that would be best for everyone. Since thats impossible I will try to be as close as I can. The first day of the Tourney will be mainly for the people in EU. I must ask for you to post a comment on when you would like the time to be, and the time that gets the most votes is the winner. If your EU just put a "EU" b4 the time youd like. If US then use "US". I will be posting a link for the map that we'll be using shortly. Just remember, the first day is for the first TWO teams, the second day is for a different set of teams, totaling 4 teams. Oh, and if one of your team mates gets kicked out(banned from tourney) then you have to make due with what you have, so encourage your mates NOT to get themselves thrown out. Further info will be provided on the day of the tourney. May the Force Be with you all.

EU Don't mind what time but thought I would post a comment to show my interest.
Regards determining who gets to take part in this tournament. You said the first people to log in 5 mins before the tournament starts. Will people be kicked from the server 6 mins before the tournament starts? Also, is it still going to be on KS? If so you may as well count me out now as the chances are cogentco will not let me get a good enough ping to connect. I believe there are quite a few other people in the same situation as I with regards connection to the KS server. They also will not be able to take part. US - Yo, guys. Let's make this thing on a Saturday. Bright and early. Like........ 9:00am Eastern Time. That way, most people won't have work, students won't have school, and everybody will just be there. That sounds kool to me. |

I don't see it that way. Everyone already has access to the same force abilities, as the force level of the server is Jedi Master. It's up to the individual to select the force powers that they feel are best for their play style. I can already tell you that under a force setup like this one, a Defender like myself (who relies heavily on high-damage weapons to fend off multiple attackers) will be at a disadvantage. All one of them has to do is get close, and they can just hold down the key they have bound to pull. In a couple of seconds, I won't have any weapon but a saber left. I don't know about anyone else, but I think it's kinda hard to kill someone with a saber when they don't stop to fight you. But when someone takes my weaponry like that, my solution is to use Absorb next time so they can't do it again. As for teamwork and strategy, that's totally up to the players...they have to work to organize. The force powers they do or don't use have no effect whatsoever. Don't get me wrong here, I don't want you to take offense because I have different ideas about how it should be done. I think it's good that you guys are taking CTF seriously. I'm just speaking from the standpoint of someone who's done a LOT of CTF and feels he has a good grasp on the balance issues inherent within _______________ http://steamcommunity.com/id/citizen059 |
