By popular demand and request, I am conducting a CTF tournament on KS server starting Wednesday Jan 15 at 8PM EST and Thursday Jan 16 at 10:30PM EST. PLEASE READ THE COMMENT I'M LEAVING ON THIS POST FOR RULES AND REGULATIONS AS WELL AS HOW TO ENTER. I hope to see you there  |

Here are the Rules and Regulations for the Tournament as well as entry rules:
1.There will be 4 teams, each consisting of 5 players and 1 leader that is chosen by the Team and must be either a Journeyman or Knight. The first two days of the Tournament will be decide what the teams are. You must balance yourselves accordingly so that there are 6 total players on each team. All you have to do is be the first to login 5 minutes before the tournament and whichever team you are, Thats your team for the Duration of the Tournament. 2.YOU CANNOT switch teams at ANY point in the tournament. Any player caught switching will be kicked and banned from the tournament. 3.Force Powers will be limited to PUSH,PULL,JUMP. This will make sure that you use strategy in your battle and not blind Kamikaze strikes as well as equality in teams. If your caught using other force powers you will be put in a penalty box and punished for 5-10 min. Having SPEED is being considered, this will be notified on the day of the Tourny. 4.The first day of the Tourny will be teams A and B. The second day will be Team C and D. The Capture limit will be 5 and the Time limit will be 60 Minutes. The losing teams will square off the next day and they will be the Wildcard team. The winning teams will face off the day after. The Wildcard and the Winner of the 4th Day Will Face off in a 10 capture limit 90 minute showdown for the Team CTF Trophy. 5. ANY PERSON WHO IS NOT PART OF THE TEAMS MUST SPECTATE. The Player limit will be limited to 20. No intereference can be allowed during this Play from outside forces. 6.CLAN associations will not be allowed, so if every member of the team is in the same clan, you will be forced to switch or leave. 7.The Watchers(JAT/JAC) will be in full control of the matches. You must give them the name of your team leader for he/she will be the one representing your team and coordinating your team efforts. 8. I want this to be as fair and Orderly as possible as well as Fun and exciting. This will require strategy and Technique. The Map will selected at random and if there is a Map that is chosen that is not in, a link will be given so that you may download it before hand. well, first the times: it is 1 am and 3 am GMT, so expect no EU members to show up. but you already handled this in a new post, and here is my advice: make an EU CTF and an US CTF. for the EU one, we could use the NL server for much better pings as well.
and i hope this will be without gun, right? in my opinion CTF with guns turns out into a repeater second mode and fletch second mode chaos defence. in fact i think there are much more lucky kills with guns than with forces. so MY opinion would be to have full force, but no guns. you can concentrated on counters to forces (evade grip whores) and it's generally much "cleaner" fight. i know there are some highly trained, excellent gun useres, but i'd say most of us are not

ulic i think you can call a vote at any time to change the game mode on the servers. and people usually vote yes for CTF. and you can participate anyway, you might not win, but you will learn. _______________ make install -not war |

The only issue I see with that is the limitation of force powers. As a defender, I routinely use sight to see people coming so I can better organize a defense against an attack; also, I use absorb so that incoming attackers can't spam pull to take every weapon I have.
Defending your base with only a saber is a fairly futile effort. It's hard to kill someone with a saber (read: flagrunner) if they don't stop to fight you. It's even more useless if they have force speed. Other than that, it sounds pretty good. That's the only real concern I have. OK, here's somewhat-related question:
Can we have some place to PRACTICE CTF? I've only played once, and I like it. But I'm not playing in a tourney if I've only done this once. Let me know. _______________ Jedi do not fight for peace. I agree with DB.. having force limited to that makes absolutely no sense to me. It takes away a big defensive weapon, as well as alot of the challenge from the game. Equality between teams concering force makes absolutely no sense, both teams have the same chance to use the same force. Unless one team is dark/other light that I wasn't informed of... Also, if you don't know how to use/counter the force well, real-life experience is a good way to learn. i think force DRAIN should be allowed. i remember a comical time in my youth where i tried to jump bridges at bespin, yet having been recently drained, i couldn't make the jump resulting in numerous "jackass"s and "dumbass"s. hehe can't make it, times bad for me, school nights but I would still like to say my opinion. I believe FF is the way to go. To every force power there is a way to counter it in some way or another. THe capper will have the hardest time getting out of the bases(especially factions and bespin) with not having speed but the defense has push and pull (also the offense not have absorb to counter it). _______________ What is the difference between love and Herpes? I don't agree with that, Arcuss. With Push & Pull, normal weapons are already greatly hindered. With Force Seeing, the Disruptor Rifle is almost 100% useless now. With a limited amount of force, everyone will have the enabled force maxed out, so Force Seeing would give people "too much" power.
That is just my opinion. =) |

Question:
Let's say that on the third day, "Bob" from Team A decides to switch to Team B. He is caught and banned from the tournament. Team A is now short one person. Does Team A get to find a substitute for the very last day? Or do they suffer the consequences of an unreliable ally? |
