I'm using this as a reminder that yes, we do have a FANTASTIC European server. The admin/host of the server (who I won't name, I'll let him name himself if he likes) just joined the Academy, and I hate to see the server sitting there so empty all the time when this guy has made such a wonderful donation. So please, start using the Gamecity server. Just hop on it for 10 minutes or so. If people see you're on, maybe they'll join up. Although I do think it has the old version of the map... but hopefully you still have it too (and Admin-who-I-shall-not-name, if you read this post, download our new map at this address and install it on the server please  ) |

what i mislike with v2 is: ...... ..sometimes i cant get out of lost temple... add secret stairs or a elevator thing behind the door in lost temple(in the dark area, with the "entering hole" it's a door down in temple, and a door right upstairs..
it's only a wierd thing in my mind, but the doors are there, and it's a little bad when im stuck in the lost temple..... so .. ::--=LOL=--:: This comment was edited by Rampage on Dec 16 2002 07:47am. |

hey dom. i will give you the reasons why i prefer the old map, plz DONT take it as an offense! i know this must have been damn hard work for you and it's much appreciated. i will only give some constructive criticsm
in my opinion the map is too big. imagine you want to duel in the lost temple area (down through the broken floor). and one guy dies... and needs to get the whole way back from the first respawn point to the temple. and maybe getting killed after 2 second by a DFA :/ get my point? or if somebody want to chnage from outside to the new areas. i want to chat and play, not talking long walks in the moonlight
the huge size of the map causes my ping to get worse. about 200-300 with the old map, now from 400-500. and i did not change my connection or anything... it stay like that. i dont really get the point of the lost temple area. call me stupid, but... you cant duel very good in the second lobby, the second respawn area. so only really new room is the part with the statues. and to get down and up, it takes hours! but what i really LIKE about the new map is the new glass room and the new 3 platform. very nice designs. and i like the specatator platforms. so i would say, add some teleporters. it does not really match to the theme... but it's for neccesary for the fun. well, for MY fun, dunno if the others care about ping and long walks

this is a great server except i have noticed a few strange tings.
1. barely anyone is ever on unless the ks server is full so i suggest you use it so we can keep it. 2. the map is sometimes on different map like last week it was on the deathstar map for a while which isn't bad just curious. 3. i get a decent ping there buti live in california usa, so i think anyone who has a decent connection(above 56k) can get a good ping there. and my finale comment is that if anyone is selling there graphics card please email me at calvin166@yahoo.com because if its better than what ive got (my graphics card is 6 years old and can barley run jk2) i will probably buy it. -thanks! _______________ "this is Icco. Dom, there is nothing wrong with the new map. However, there are two things for ME that make me attached with the older map. 1. because of my obsession with NO change, i like old skool things. The old map is oldskool 
2. Because of the new maps ginormous size, i think my ping is starting to get mad high for some reason. maybe that, or my internet connection is getting worse. those are the only two reasons i can come up with. There is NOTHING wrong with the new version... i think the lost temple is sexy, only i can never get up from it... >_<... for a next map upgrade, is it possible to make it so that there is something to get us up top faster (ie, teleportation if that is possible, elevator, or hidden stairs!) thats all thanks -vaughn PS, nothing wrong with the new map, dont feel like we dont appreciate what you have done for us _______________ When you become an actor, you become the person, and you dont act anymore. Howdy Dom, no one's denying the new map is the shizzy.(err,.. does that apply here?) Anyway the new map is definitely groovy.

Howdy kids, this is a really good server to play on. There are some really nice people that have been playing there in the last couple of days. I spent an hour or so a few nights ago practicing with some of our new initiates, and had a really fun time. After all I think it's the people that make a server good or bad, and gamecity is just another of our great servers full of great people.
(Well FULL might not be the right word,but hopefully Dooobies post will change that) However, there is one thing I don't like about this server, my 999ping. Wait...that's every server, but that's different story. -Arcuss{JAP} Lord of the PING- |

Howdy fellas. This is a great server and the number of Academy students from Europe is growing by the day so I think it will be a matter of weeks for this server to be packed.
Spetially with the new Academy Mod coming out. So guys please stop by once in a while. i waited 30 minutes (for the second time... makes one hour) on the empty NL server. noone showed up. sad... quite a waste of time >(

It would be SOOO great with the new map! i get around 240-280 ping on ks and DJ's, so if the new map was on gamecity, i would have stopped 90% of my activity on ks!

The only prob is that most people are going to ks, so when ks is almost full, I won't go to gamecity. I also want to play on it a lot, since it's the only place I can get a good ping. But even if you stay 20 minutes people don't come by. Couldn't we get a system where you can say, then and then i'm going to that server, so that people know that there are more joining. And I think that people don't even check anymore on the Jedilive for gamecity. Gamecity is a good server. I think that the old map should be left in place for those certain somebodies out there who don't seem to like the new map.
In a related topic, certain LAMM members claim they would play here if we had people in the UK server, so I say give the monkies a reason to visit! |
