Finishing out our nominations from last week, I've just received word that Padawan Huxley is no longer a padawan, but is instead a Jedi Academy Trainer. Congrats Hux! |

Actually it seems to me that the best way to get nominated is to simply be yourself. Help others when you can, and for the most part don't actively seek out the rank of JAT. Not to say don't aspire to be one, but what's the saying: "Good things come to those who wait."
Don't worry, as the academy continues to grow, there will be need of more trainers..... And again, as this is news of Hux..... GOod job man!!! |

Just to make a quick point before this stuff dies... Knights are going to be nominated, not applied for, so chances are if we had had the knight trials ready before we did the JAT selections, it wouldn't have made much of a difference. _______________ -Academy Leader/Dictator/Defeater of DJ Sith and JACen Solo in the JAK+ Tournament -I do think it (the JA) will help convert dozens, maybe hundreds, to the dork nation... --me |

OK, I just think the council made a bad disicion on giving priority to the JAT-fill up instead of quickly enabling the Knight Trials so everyone could be elected in a fair way.
To give 'positive-reinforcement' criticism, perhaps next time you should clarify the way people were chosen JAT/JAC, because I wouldn't have posted any comment if that was the case. To critize myself, perhaps I should have more confidence in the judgement of the Jedi Academy Council. I hope this matter is solved now, and everyone can continue doing what they're good at. |

Jacen Solo speaks truth. Yeah it sucks, but we don't have the Knight trials fleshed out and we needed new JATs desperately, so we bypassed procedure to get our training roster up. JATs were chosen mainly for their attitude and dedication to the JA, but they all still have to pass a trial to make sure they're no slouch at the game.
I know that most of you out there want to be a JAT, and alot of you have been around for quite a while. My apologies if you didn't get picked and you felt you deserved it. These past 5 JATs were chosen first by the council and the JATs we had at the time before their trials. Of those 5 we decided on there were about 11 total we considered and discussed every case at length. These 5 just happened to stand out above the rest. _______________ My car is made of Nerf. |

Ok guys, this is getting way out of control. So here is "my" point of view.
Although every one promoted had to pass a JAT trial, promotions were based not only on fighting capabilities but also on commitment and hard work shown to the Academy. The Knight trial wasn't done because it is still in elaboration. The promotions wouldn't be deferent if JAK trials were involved, it would only take a bit more time. I have no doubt that everyone that passed JAT trials woulded passed JAK trials very easily. For hard work I meant helping fellow students and staff, contributing with improving ideas, helping with mod's scripts or servers etc. People wont be promoted based only on the "kick ass" factor. That is not at all the philosophy of this place. It doesn’t matter if one is the best fighter in the Academy and doesn’t get involved in other aspects of Academy life. Not only most of the ppl involved are members of the Academy for a "long" time (some since the 1st day or earlier) but also they were nominated by every JAT/C. It is our job not only to teach you but also to keep an eye on your skills so that when the next wave of JAT's is needed we can nominate your names. Among these skills will be the ability you have to relate to other students, the respect you show for them and JA staff, hard work and of course the way you fight. Finally, regarding the so called friend factor. Yes JAC's and JAT's are our friends, but also a lot of the students. Some of them are very good friends. It is a natural thing when you spend some time in a community, even if it is in the internet. So I wouldn't call that butt kissing. Again, these are "my" opinions and views. I'm really happy for the trainers and I'm sorry if I offended anyone with my question in the newspost of the promotions of Jacen and Aayla.
For the sake of my 'career' I will just shut up and kiss up and kick down, and just obey every disicion the all-holy council members make, and never question them. Good luck! |
