Brought to us by FaDed: Mission Statement of the JASE The purpose of the Jedi Academy Society of Excellence is to recognize individuals who are striving for excellence within the Jedi Academy. Students selected into JASE are highly respected among the JA by both students and trainers alike. Their job is to help, teach, and maintain. JASE students are always available if a student has a question or if a trainer is in need of an assistant. JASE students are knowledgeable and can share their knowledge in a clear, precise manner. JASE students are aware of student activities and will promptly report any violation of JA rules after negotiations fail. JASE Organization I. Founder A. Oversees all JASE activity B. Just to reiterate what I already reiterated, this is an UNOFFICIAL group run by students for students. The administration is only offering help getting it off the ground, nothing more nothing less. Don't get your panties all in a bundle, if you don't like it you don't have to participate, and don't need to be afraid that JASE members will have some sort of official function in the JA: they won't  _______________ -Academy Leader/Dictator/Defeater of DJ Sith and JACen Solo in the JAK+ Tournament -I do think it (the JA) will help convert dozens, maybe hundreds, to the dork nation... --me |

I'm not really against the JASE, but I don't like the 'excellence'.... for me that's just another word for 1337, but perhaps it's just a misunderstanding of the word. What I know I DO like about this is if (I don't know if it's how it will/could be) somewhat new students, who have read about the JASE here, is a little shy or have been rejected by some other students while asking for training, see the JASE tag and is more likely to ask for training. = Greater chance of them asking for training than if there is no JASE Of course this is just a theoretic +, we still can't know how it will be if/when it get on the servers. |

This is my understanding of what JASE is. Recognizing a student that they are lets say an elite student(there skillz are high, there knowledge of the game and how things work is great, they have the abilities to teach, and they participate in the community of JA regularly) So a JASE would be someone who the teacher would already know could help them in a lesson. If JASE is only given to students and it is to recognize these elite students then to me it would seem the JASE would stand for ~Jedi Academy Student of Excellence~(or Student's) will you put this in your title? here's an idea monty. we understand that you see no reason for it, but see if you can help us to revise this outline so you do see a reason for it. please help us to make JASE as good as it can possibly be, even if you don't agree with it. fizz: there was never equality. there will always be students that are better than others. we only that these better students help the others to become better. and when that happens, JASE believes that these better students should be recognized for their service. Just quickly, I want to thank everyone for your input. We knew there would be mixed emotions about JASE. Jim, I agree with you on focusing on adding new servers and building the community. Part of being in JASE is a committment to promote JA Awarness on public servers and elsewhere. With the JASE comes a brand spanking new 32 client server on a 10GB stream, serving with duel 2.4 Xeon processors. This server is in Florida. In testing, so far we have seen some incredible pings from distant folks, i.e..Kenji Kamadake in Japan reported that he has never had a lower ping. We will be live with it shortly. This is a donation to the academy. We are not here to claim rank and this is the last time I am going to say it. We hope the JASE develops into a fantastic support system of the JA and we hope to gain your support in this. -DM- _______________ One Day, it will all end. |

Good good, this is a good thing, solve those conflicts. The sad fact is that most conflicts end up coming down to admin powers since some people simply cannot be talked down. So picture this... A lamer is on the servers, lets call him Sith DJ(pure coincindence ) and there are 2 JASE people on. What do you do ? you've asked him to calm down, stop swearing, stop chatkilling, stop gunning in temple and doing loads of other naughty stuff. Thers no JAK's, JAT's or JAC's in server or in IRC. What do you do ? The only thing you could possibly do, becasue all the people in this JASE group seem to be very skilled as thats one of the elements they are chosen on, is fight back and subdue Sith DJ to stop him causing trouble. If you want a demonstartion of something like this go to one of the many FFA servers out there where over half the people on the server stand around just waiting for someone to make a mistake so they can hack em up.<Not related to JASE topic> Back to JiM's point. People are becoming a bit too reliant on the academy for their playing fix. We all need to play publics more, and get out in the community, not claim we are the best part of it but hide away. Don't you get bored sometimes of jsut fighting the same people ? (the people which are on at the same times as you all the time). Hmmm, looks to me like this is just some scam for certain people to climb up the ranks faster. Frankly, this ja is to help people play the game better on public servers and what not. We must get out of this obsession with academy and obtaining high positions. Just play the game. I mean seriously, there really is no need at all for this jase idea. Most people never admit it, but everyone wants to be a teacher or a knight or a jac or a whatever. Stop preoccuping yourself with this, we've got jaks and jats pourring out of our hmpfs. Frankly, what we should really be considering is getting more servers, so we can hold more classes at the same times. Or to host different game modes. We don't academy policemen patrolling around, it's just a game. _______________ JiM |
