Brought to us by FaDed: Mission Statement of the JASE The purpose of the Jedi Academy Society of Excellence is to recognize individuals who are striving for excellence within the Jedi Academy. Students selected into JASE are highly respected among the JA by both students and trainers alike. Their job is to help, teach, and maintain. JASE students are always available if a student has a question or if a trainer is in need of an assistant. JASE students are knowledgeable and can share their knowledge in a clear, precise manner. JASE students are aware of student activities and will promptly report any violation of JA rules after negotiations fail. JASE Organization I. Founder A. Oversees all JASE activity B. Has final say in all JASE related matters II. Co-Founders A. Assistants to the Founder 1. Advise and participate in all major decisions B. Oversee and run all Commitees 1. Select and organize commitee members III. Commitees A. Selection Commitee 1. Organize and run the selection process 2. Evaluate students 3. 5-10 Commitee members B. Reports Commitee 1. Read and archive all student reports 2. 3-6 Commitee members IV. Students A. Active members of the Jedi Academy B. Submit weekly reports JASE Rules 1. Follow all JA rules 2. Adhere to the JASE Code of Honor 3. Always tell the truth 4. Take responsibility for actions 5. Be on time to appointments 6. Make and keep promises 7. Respect students and trainers 8. Always more praise than critique 9. Do not brag or boast 10. Take suggestions with gratitude 11. Be open to questions 12. Know the answer 13. Always strive to become better 14. Just to reiterate what I already reiterated, this is an UNOFFICIAL group run by students for students. The administration is only offering help getting it off the ground, nothing more nothing less. Don't get your panties all in a bundle, if you don't like it you don't have to participate, and don't need to be afraid that JASE members will have some sort of official function in the JA: they won't  _______________ -Academy Leader/Dictator/Defeater of DJ Sith and JACen Solo in the JAK+ Tournament -I do think it (the JA) will help convert dozens, maybe hundreds, to the dork nation... --me |

Great, get more servers, but bomb this massive, list of cr*p. It's really useless, to be frank in my view. We don't need to expand to pubs. We are here to teach, people come to us, if they need help. JASE just sounds like students with authority. Right im starting up the SWA. Code of conduct - lol I wont participate with the JASE im afraid, I still need to get to know the JA and since i've been to one lesson (Lord Exars red style :thumbsup: ) I think i'll wait a bit longer. Oh and i moved into my new house and should be getting ADSL this week! OMFG! |

What if you just test it out? Have an official trial period that ends on a certain date. At that point in time, we could all have another discussion/poll whatever to see how it's going. If it seems to be working out ok, the JA council renews it's "unofficial support" of this...uh, extracurricular activity. If not, we the students could allow it to die a quiet death, but thank the people for trying so hard in an attempt to improve the JA. I don't know. I'm fence-sitting. Hmmm.....I've read the outline and this whole thread, and it seems to me you're making a mountain out of a mole-hill. It almost looks like you're trying to make another Jedi Academy. I'm all for recognizing people that go the extra mile, that part of it I like a lot. However, I think you're making it too complicated. There shouldn't be an entire organization for this. Recognizing students that work hard, help everyone they can, uphold the ideals of the Academy, etc. is great. If this were simply an award, it's perfect. But only current JAKs/JACs/JATs should be giving out this award, not other students. If this is supposed to be like a "student council" that represent the students to the Council, again, it's just way too overblown. Besides, I thought that was one of the JAK's jobs, to bring student's concerns to the Council. I totally believe you guys have nothing but good intentions, but this whole thing seems to be just another way to do the ranks which were done away with. I'm not really against the JASE, but I don't like the 'excellence'.... for me that's just another word for 1337, but perhaps it's just a misunderstanding of the word. What I know I DO like about this is if (I don't know if it's how it will/could be) somewhat new students, who have read about the JASE here, is a little shy or have been rejected by some other students while asking for training, see the JASE tag and is more likely to ask for training. = Greater chance of them asking for training than if there is no JASE Of course this is just a theoretic +, we still can't know how it will be if/when it get on the servers. |

This is my understanding of what JASE is. Recognizing a student that they are lets say an elite student(there skillz are high, there knowledge of the game and how things work is great, they have the abilities to teach, and they participate in the community of JA regularly) So a JASE would be someone who the teacher would already know could help them in a lesson. If JASE is only given to students and it is to recognize these elite students then to me it would seem the JASE would stand for ~Jedi Academy Student of Excellence~(or Student's) will you put this in your title? here's an idea monty. we understand that you see no reason for it, but see if you can help us to revise this outline so you do see a reason for it. please help us to make JASE as good as it can possibly be, even if you don't agree with it. fizz: there was never equality. there will always be students that are better than others. we only that these better students help the others to become better. and when that happens, JASE believes that these better students should be recognized for their service.
