I'm thinking more than 10, which is why I eventually stopped buying PC's and started dual booting my macs. Some of my PC's got so junked up inside, I had to hope it would start up. I have no nead for the hardware anymore, which in my case is almost always inferior to mine. _______________ Brother to Quill You don't understand. I agree, on something's. Yes, my iMac gets rather hot, but my work comp, my Mac pro, is a different story. I have never heard of catostrophic failures, except on PC's, aka blue screen of death. I also agree the calculator insult was very childish. Every OS has it's ryme and reason. The reason Macs are superior, is stability. I don't know what kind of problems you encountered mike, but my macs are the most stable computers I own, and I own quite a few, too many in fact. PC's aren't cheaper. If you match the stats of my Mac pro to an alienware of the same specs, the alienware costs more. I have my main Mac with windows, and Linux on it, along side OS X. It's a matter of opinion. For what I do, macs are the better choice.
Gaming is great on the Mac, you just have to know what you are doing. Oh, btw, my last flame. Enjoy your windows eight! What a joke. QFT. OSX is awesome. It's the stuff that runs them that's junk. The desktops are okay, but most of the people I know who use macs either professionally or for personal use have experienced catastrophic failures. Mostly their laptops in the macbook pro line, including the one I owned. |

Anyway, this is a good thing, no? The only reason to go for a Mac is for OS X. The hardware is no different at all. The MacBooks are overall awesome, but that's not just because of Apple. Calling other people's computers (which, by the way, happen to be more powerful than most Apple machines) calculators is just stupid. OS X is a perfectly good platform just as capable as a PC. But, in fact, most PCs have much better heating/cooling than the iMac and Mac Mini lines of Apple Macs. Keep in mind I use OS X and Ubuntu regularly, and much prefer Ubuntu to OS X in almost every way. OS X still has its place, though, but it's still nothing to brag about. Mac's have horrendous hardware, are vastly overpriced, and just simply aren't worth the hassle of having a nice operating system like OSX. PC's > Macs, any day of the week and twice on your birthday.
