free to play in the MMO world isn't a sign of failure, the fact is wow is a monster and eats up alot of the subscription that people will pay for a MMO, by offering the free to play you are basically allowing them to pay for more content if they want to etc.. its a clever business model since nothing has come close to stealing wow's thunder...
And you can bitch all you want about wow, but the fact is, it a solid MMO that gets it right, great end game to keep people, a solid pvp setup with good balance across the board etc.... thats why MMO's aspire to wow so much. Dont give me the guild wars 2 crap either, yes it looks fantastic but its a completely different type of game, it doesn't even use the trinity of classes ( which is good to have something different ) _______________ If you add me to MSN, tell me who you are

And yeah, Portal 2 was absolutely amazing, but I'm not sure if I want to categorise it as a FPS... there's kinda not much shooting going on there. Oh and I forgot about bulletstorm - haven't played it myself, but a lot of people with fairly refined tastes said it was a good game. But yeah, the FPS genre has been honestly a bit lackluster ever since consolification kicked in a few years ago. Totally agree with Mike about Origin though. No idea wtf is up with that.. let's just hope ME3 won't be an Origin exclusive title. ... excluding DX3 %) well for me portal 2 was like the only really decent thing in like past year or so. even then its not even the real fps
then notice how many fps were hyped? brink, homefront, fear 3 crysis 2 etc.. really average games or... duke nukem forever. mega failure. then again dont we have the same in every genre... one good game from every genre every year. most hyped games being crap, a few good ones, some 'old franchise revival' most of times being complete failure. normal year i guess. mmos being a bit difficult to determine. some die in one month, others become f2p after a few months or one year. a lot of games look really great during the development period... _______________ playing jk3 since 30th of january (2005), member since 1st of february. I only played a little bit of Crysis one. Interesting concept, but not my cup of tea.
I'm disappointed in EA for shoving this Origin nonsense down people's throats with BF3. At least if you buy it via their silly little service they give you a free copy of Mass Effect 2, Dead Space 2 or MoH. But still, BOW DOWN TO STEAM OKAY. |

Come on any major publisher or game designer has a few turkeys but EA consistently bring out quality titles, Their sports franchises are by far the best in the genre across the board, NFS has got better of late, dragon age 2 was a bit of a turkey but i like i say we can forgive, mass effect, mass effect 2, Battlefield, All these games are quality titles.
End of the day KOTOR and KOTOR2 were great, so we know that bioware can take the SW universe forward and do it justice at the same time. We also know they are very capable of producing great gameplay. End of the day yes it's been overhyped but by god its the most expensive game ever to me made.. i would market the shit outta it aswell! _______________ If you add me to MSN, tell me who you are
