There were a great many Sith Lords that were mentioned in the Star Wars Universe, but since there are only two at the same time after Darth Bane, there is no real way to compare them.

I'd go with Darth Traya, although I myself am not sure she counts as the greatest Sith Lord, rather one of the greatest antagonists in a more general sense. Revan could well deserve this title, however we don't know much about his time as a Sith Lord first hand, although apparently he was less psychopathic and mindless and more cold and logical, with his ultimate aim being to make the Republic strong enough to withstand the real Sith.
Sidious and Bane are the other two that spring to mind, however I don't know much about Bane, and Sidious was just too crazy evil. ~Va'kion Depends what you mean by 'killed'. Sidious came back in multiple re-incarnations after ROTJ ended. Found something today; Vader was set to be (If he hadn't lost his legs/arm and been mortally wounded.) he would have been at least twice as powerful as Sidious, with the suit and injuries it stood at about 80% of it. Yoda was a pillar of the Light Side, and Sidious was a cloud of the Dark. Yoda could never defeat Sidious because, pain only made him stronger, so turning his force lightning back on him didn't work. Only by completely destroying him, with something he couldn't control, aka "The Death Star" could Sidious be killed.

Very good point, totally forgot about all of them when I was typing that. What I was trying to get across though was I thought Yoda and Palpatine were quite evenly matched. They came to a bit of a stale mate, because Yoda obviouvly needed to kill Palpatine, and he couldn't. _______________ <MaherSenatu> guh... you are just... I would only say after battle with a lightsaber, Death is loss. anything you can walk away from is a draw or above. So mace didnt beat palp, obi didnt beat anakin, Dooku didnt beat Anakin. Nah im sticking with Exar. Simply ue to canonly he Wiped out an entire race, Mastered sith alchemy, was noted to have 'amazing saber skills'. Ulic could be pretty high up there aswell, sidious was more intelligent that amazingly powerful, but i quote (After googling the question)
