Some of us went on a fieldtrip yesterday and played a 7vs7 against the Zenith clan! It was a blast and everyone had a good time. Only thing is, the Academy students lost.... Want another chance? You got it! On April 7th at 11PM GMT, your Jedi Academy Aurochs will be playing Zenith in an official match! Here's the kicker: after the match, Zenith will be sticking around to face off against as many JA students as we can send against them! So slap on your [JA] tag and see if we can set a record for a 16vs16 TFFA! So post if you're interested and can make it! |

There really is a small window when you pick these things. Also the Aurochs did not set the time of match, Zenith did. However, You figure Euros are like us: they have RL stuff, then they get home, then they go to bed. So say you're an average chap. You get home from work/school @ 6:00pm. If you're like me, you might be taking care of dinnner then so you're really not available until 7:00PM. And you want to get to bed at a reasonable hour, so 7PM to 11PM is your window. So if you live at GMT +1, when you reach 11PM, It just became 6:00pm on the American east coast. USA Central is still at work as is anyone west of that. So if I live on the eastcoast, I just got home when you're ready to go to bed. Also realize that at 6pm my time, it's between 6-8am Aussie time. But at least at 11PM GMT, you're home and we're home. At least most of us. At 11PM GMT, it's 7:00 pm EST so if I rush home from school/work and bust out dinner, I can make it. It's 6:00pm CST and central-americans might be able to get involved at some point in the match if they get home soon enough. And the Aussies are up at a reasonable hour *assuming* they don't have work/school  . So if you're willing to stay up to 12 or maybe a little later on a Friday night, we can have that wonderful little window where everyone is home. So yeah we picked a Euro-friendly time. I've noticed a lot of Aurochs events are at times that best suit american residents only, and as Masta said, they aren't very active I know I'm suggesting the obvious, but maybe it would be best to set a time that's workable for everyone? _______________ Former padawan of RoseRed |

Well it was a nice idea, but we didn't have a single student show up in the server, on IRC, msn, or anything. Aurochs had a good match and won 113-86, but I think a huge mistake was made in our estimation in student interest in team-based saber fighting. I would be lying if I said I wasn't disapointed or concerned over interest/activity in the JA. Oh wells, you live and learn! This comment was edited by Tido on Apr 08 2006 06:13am. |
