You know over the pst few months I have been noticing MANY problems here,and my question.Why The Hell? If we (and i mean We as we are a community) have a problem with each other,then Why The Hell dont we discuss and (the more important part) SOLVE the problem? Where im from people are raised to be respectable enough to atleast be honest.If we cant be honest with each other about OUR problems here then WHY i ask you ,Why The Hell are we here? Now I am a proud member of this academy.So proud in fact that I've posted this with the hopes that it may by some small chance help,but as others have tried to help this change come along, it hasnt.What change am i speaking of? The change that means people will respect each other.Not becasue they are admins,or padawans of admins,or friends of admins,but because of a mutual respect from MEMBER to MEMBER.With no other reason that just being members of the same community. So I say we get to the bottom of the real problems of the JA,and not just shift our vision to other problems.Like sploting, I know that there is a bit of problems involving sploiting,but is that really as deep as sploiting. I know I dont think so.I think,that problem has a bit more to do with certain people,and not as much love(sploiting).I say WE as a comminty have it out in a controlled way where everyone as EQUALS can voice their opinion,and as a community try to SOLVE the problems, and not try to hide them with others.Now I understand that might seem like aot of work, but ladies and gentleman, I am all for it.I say anything to help this place RUN SMOOTHLY.I know that this place is hiding alot of problems.Some we will never see the aftermath of. So, with that said. I say we meet together as equals, as member of the academy and nothing else, to try to help this place stand on its own two feet,solve some of its problems,and be friends once again. F***ING POKER NOOB, YOUR SO LAME" no i just duel him/her how i normally would and do not comment on the poke. as for the others like extensions ect i think that they are okay and they can be used, so long as they are not spammed. Well guys i appreciate your comments,but I wasnt really talking about exploits or troublemakers.I was talking about the problems that are beneath cause by these problems.People who use to be friends,and now aren't.Things like that,and yes I understand that this is the internet,but after all still doesnt mean that people cant respect the people they KNOW here.Yes ,we have over 10,000 member, but how many are actually active? Although I’m sure most people agree with what you have said, respect does not necessarily go hand in hand with problem solving. We have over 10,000 members so it’s near impossible to get everyone to agree on anything but the most general ideas. We have to agree to disagree. The academy is based upon respect and I think this is quite clear already. All this talk of problem solving could potentially let age old arguments re-emerge in what has been, in my opinion, a quieter period of the JA. The previous thread about exploits also had the ideal of solving the issue once and for all – but it didn’t – it was words, not actions. Deja Vu anyone? Seriously though, I agree with Gradius and Casual. It would be a much nicer place if people would stop telling other people how to play the game. The whole crusade against the exploits is what made me stop playing on the Academy servers. Which leads me to another point that a lot of people tend to forget. Oh I was wondering when another one of these posts pops up, since it's been almost three months or something since the last one. Gradius brings forth a good point. This is the Internet. The big WWW answers to "Why the hell?" with "Because.". Whenever one of these posts comes up, it's always about something bad happening in the Academy, usually due to the actions of a couple of individuals. Read the last words well. There's nothing wrong with the community. It has its ups and downs and lefts and rights like any conventional marriage does. I know it's a toughy, but please people try to understand that JA is sometimes like a crap magnet and it seems like things are going real bad. That's a good thing. We need crap to make this place just a little bit more than a Home for Pink Fluffy Bunnies. And respect is a nice thing as long as you don't force it down anyone's throat. I respect a great deal of good friends here. On the other hand, there are quite a lot of people here who I couldn't care less about. I admit that because I'm admitting I'm human. Not the Rodian wielding a sabre staff you might see in the game. Remember, if you're ever thinking that something might be wrong with this place, consider the following first: 1) You are most likely delusional 2) Is it Gradius' fault? 3) Maybe you should just drop it and continue to aspire in your path to Jedi Greatness. Now go and have a great New Year's party and stop worrying about the state of the Academy. Welp, in all honestly, 2 words will answer your question of "Why the hell." The Internet. It's the internet, people can be who they want to be and do what they want to do (within limits of course). But in reality, the internet is just a form of entertainment, as is this community. People will choose to be nice to others, other people won't. People will always argue, because they're human. Nothing has changed between now and 6 months ago, or even before then. Only that there's more people pissing eachother off. If people would relax and stop shouting "SPLOITZ!" every 2 minutes, maybe there'd be less arguing and more people trying to have fun. Seriously though, this whole "exploits" ordeal has gone on long enough. Let it go folks. It's not going to get any better the more you try to shove it in everyone's faces. People have been using these so called "exploits" for years now, I have no clue why it's been discussed so much the past few months. It's a game. Answer: Being honest and talking exploits over always ends in flaming, locked threads, or it just never gets anywhere. But don't worry, hopefully that'll all be cleared up soon. Great post and point M8. I think most want to be and are respectful. But there are always those few that think just because they don't have to see anyone face to face, they can do and say whatever they want. Some say "Well it's just a game so what do I care."
