All right guys, what you have been waiting for has returned! #ja-trivia is coming back better than ever! For those of you who are not familiar with IRC trivia, basically, we have a bot named Bollux (name maybe changed, this is also the JARadioBot) in the IRC channel #ja-trivia that is loaded with questions currently made by Tido and Kensei. Only a couple of people, usually ops, can start quizzes. It's like this because there will be a couple of annoying people out there who are intent on being at the top of the high scores by starting rounds by themselves. Bollux is Tido's bot and is hosted on Henkes' server. I will provide more info regarding the bot and user related commands in the near future. Question and answer format is fairly simple. Spelling counts! Questions will have a general category such as Star Wars: Movies, Star Wars: Expanded Universe etc. Not only will we have Star Wars and JA related questions, but we also want generic trivia questions to keep things spicy! Currently, we are working on the bot and obtaining more questions. The bot doesn't have all the bells and whistles as of yet, but we are working on it. If you have any experience with IRC bots and wish to help out, contact Tido. Also, we are in desparate NEED of QUESTIONS! We would love to have Star Wars, JA (member-related), JA (in-game), and any general trivia questions! We have a couple of people who are helping us but WE NEED MORE! Bollux only has 31 questions  If you wish to send in questions, email them to me, R2D2, at r2d2arm@gmail.com. We will copy and paste your questions and answers into the Bot's question text file, so please make sure you have proofread and looked over your questions before emailing them. Be sure to idle around #ja-trivia, we do not have set times for quizzes yet, so whenever an op is online, they will decide whether or not to start a quiz. There is a specific system in order to add a question. Category: Question: Answer: Author: so an example would be: Category: Misc JA Information Question: Does Virtue make good eggs? True or False. Answer: True Author: Tido The case of the answer doesn't matter (ie, tHe CaSe OF THe ANswER Doesn'T maTTER). But what if you had a question that could have multiple answers? Lets see an example! Ok, I basically turned JARadiobot into a more..diverse bot. He's named Bollux after the droid from SW until you guys come up with a better one . He's in #ja-trivia and is ready to go, just needs questions and answers! |

I still have the original JA TriviaBot script. You guys are welcome to have a bot if you want one. Just give me a ton of questions/answers to give to it. Other than the questions I would then suggest only 1 change. Instead of having everyone able to start a game of trivia, have it moderated or at specific times so everyone knows to get in and give it a shot. That prevents someone who lives on IRC 24/7 from racking up a huge score and knowing all the questions. This comment was edited by Tido on Mar 19 2006 09:01pm. |

Thanks Aiddat! Anyone else who is interested in making questions, post on my profile  I don't know much about running/setting up trivia bots, but I know people who do, so if we can get those questions in now, we can work on getting the bot set up and running. Also, your questions don't have to be only SW related. It can be about the people in the Academy. For instance, what is MonkaiMan's current profile name on the site?
