To my fellow Jedi Academy Students and Staff, I wanted to take this time to address the student body and fill them in on a little bit of what the Jedi Academy likes to call, the Aurochs. The Jedi Academy Aurochs, the JAA, was founded by one of our very own JAK+, Aphex towards the end of last year and the beginning of this year. It was developed as a Team Free For All Group to band together and take on in friendly fashion, clans and other groups out there that play Jedi Academy. I was fortunate enough to be part of the beginning group. The JAA had some great fun, taking on all sorts of gamers, winning, losing, but just plain having fun in the process. Eventually, Aphex decided it was time to move on. Now I'm a little fuzzy on the past here and how the exchange went down, but Leif was given some control of the TFFA group, and Aratan was put in charge of the CTF crew. The JAA still had matches, but things began to get a little sparse. I'm not saying it was bad, but the business of real life came around, practices declined with attendance, and the Aurochs we're not as active as we would have liked to have been. It would be soon after that, that Jaiko D'Kana was given the reins of the Aurochs. It was around the beginning of summer, and the activity with the Aurochs was probably at its all time smallest. Again, not a bad thing, but even though the staffing is here, we volunteer our time to help you guys/gals out and have fun, it's a tough act to balance out. All of the leaders did a great job, and should be commended for their efforts and extra time they spent volunteering to lead the Aurochs onwards. Recently, the JA has been taking an extroadinary amount of field trips out to the pubs, to the clan servers, to other gamer areas. I've once again been fortunate enough to be part of some of these experiences, and I have to admit, they are quite fun to do! Your brothers and sisters bond together to form one cohesive unit, and we have ourselves a grand time! These times sure make me feel like the old times of the Aurochs, I wish we could get that going again...... This is where it gets good. Beating around ideas in my head, talking it over with a few JAK+, the group in which I started out in, I wanted to be brought back. The ideas bounced back my way were that this was a great idea, and that we should go ahead with it. Putting a smile on my face, I was happy and honored to ask Jaiko to lead the Aurochs, and to get the JAA back up and running. After a week or so of talking things over, I was officially given the title of Captain Auroch at the beginning of this week. For this I'm very thankful for the opportunity to pave the way for a new generation of Aurochs. Some things that I and a few others have been working on are: A redesign of the Aurochs Site A new Aurochs logo A redone schedule for practice I know this may not look like much, but it's the teasers I can throw out right now. The juicy stuff I will be getting more into at a later time. At this time, I can guarantee this. 1. Those a part of the JAA will be trained to maximum potential 2. Aurochs will fight with honor, and lose with honor 3. Discipline will help mold our way of bond 4. Aurochs will take part in a variety of play 5. We will have fun in doing so... and finally, The Jedi Academy Aurochs Will, Ride, Again! b00m! Don't forget you learn when you win AND when you lose. Be the first to admit mistake AND the first to correct it. Be the shoulder for someone to lean on. Always remember those that sacrificed time to help you. Thank you Odan Wei, Vladarion, 3th, Moridin, n00b, Motrec, Faded, Leif, and Tido, you will not be forgotten as the ones to make you remember, it's all about fun... |
