Playing Jedi Academy with a joystick...

Originally I played this game with a mouse and keyboard, but more recently, I decided to start playing with a joystick. I have managed to put all of the important buttons (to me atleast) on to the joystick, and I'm finding it pretty awesome. However, I'm wondering what the rest of you think. Post the pros and cons of using a joystick (or a mouse/keyboard) or maybe even using a joystick and keyboard, or (dare I say it?) a mouse, keyboard, and joystick.

I'll post my opinions shortly. Maybe.

without a mouse you just cant be quick and precise with your aim at the same time. a mouse gives you the benefit of being able to control the speed of your rotation along with the distance of your rotation much more easily than any joysick or pad could.

Without a mouse, it'll probably be much, much harder to keep your opponent in your crosshair and aim very well. I could never even strafe jump without a mouse. :(

I see what you mean, though the only real problem I have is turning around quickly enough, which is annoying. I don't worry too much about combos, since my joystick has enough buttons to work as effectively as a keyboard (I left things like the chat button, bow, etc, on the keyboard). Really, the main reason I like the joy stick is the feel - I just enjoy playing with a joystick more. Though I probably do have a disadvantage, as this joystick is probably made for flight games (like X-Wing, Tie Fighter, X-Wing VS Tie Fighter, etc). Maybe I'll switch back to mouse/keyboard later. We'll see.

For me, not using my mouse for looking around would be too much of a restriction. I'd lose on a lot of flexibility which only something as dynamic as a mouse can give me.
Infact, i kinda fail to see the advantages of using a gamepad instead of a mouse+keyboard in jk3.

When I first started playing, I always used a joypad. Shortly after joining the academy, I realised there was so much I couldn't do without a mouse (and keyboard), so I stopped using the joypad. I was quite restricted as I couldn't really do many advanced combos that I could do using the mouse and keyboard.
