Lightsabers are the official weapon of the Jedi. If someone carries a lightsaber, it shows he or she is powerful, agile, skillful, and have much confidence in themself. The hilt (handle) of the lightsaber is usually around 30 centimeters long. Lightsabers are used by Jedis or Dark Jedis alike. All sabers are different since an apprentice must create his own sabers. The color of the blade is created by the nature of the jewel inside. The length of a saber is varied by turning a knob on the saber. The know changes the crystal's focus, refracting it in a new way to make the saber longer or shorter. The only ones who can control a saber are those who are strong with the force. Others can barely wield it. According to the Jedi, lightsabers are not only a weapon, it is a way to be attuned with the force.

But Jedis are not the only ones who wield this weapon. The Sith also use the lightsaber. They are the sworn enemy of every Jedi. Long long ago, there was a war called the Great Hyperspace War. The Sith launched a massive attack on the republic, along with all the Jedi. The Sith did it out of vengence from the dark side. They wanted revenge on the Jedi for banishing them. And that is basically how the Jedi and Sith conflict began.........
