Tell em the Jedi Academy Sent You

The saber has three stances in multiplayer. The blue stance, which is known as fast or light, the yellow stance, which is known as medium, and the red/purple stance, which is also known as heavy or slow. The saber can be used in many fashions. You can perform multiple attacks and moves with the saber. Only when you have the saber out can you perform acrobatic moves. When you have guns out, you cannot do any acrobatic moves, besides use your force powers and force jump.

The Light Stance:
The Light Stance is usually used as a finish off or a counter to the Heavy Stance. The Light Stance is often used by newer players who don't know better, or very advanced players. The average amount of damage done by a Light Stance is anywhere from 20-35 points, depending on your swing. More people prefer the Medium Stance because the damage is far superior and has around the same speed. But, in Light Stance, you can perform multiple chained attacks, which can be very useful.
There are two moves you can do in Light Stance; the Backstab, and the Forward Lunge.
The Forward Lunge:
This move is performed by crouching. While you are crouching, hold forward and push attack in light stance. It should result in you quickly getting up while moving a bit forward, and slicing the saber up in a vertical motion.
This move can do a good 30-40 damage. This move is good for a surprise, or just to finish someone off.
The Backstab:
This move is performed while someone is directly behind you. Then push back and attack. If pulled off properly you will thrust the saber behind you, surprising your attacker. This move can do 30 or more. It does a base of 30 damage, and can do more if they run into it, or just stand in it. This move is used when someone is chasing you, it can be a very helpful attack. Also when someone is up against a wall if you were to use it, it can do over 60 damage! Not a very good move to just pull off 'any time'. This move needs to be timed properly for it to work right.

The Medium Stance:
This is a more common stance seen. It is an excellent alternative to the less damaging Light Stance. The Medium Stance does approximately twice as much damage (60-70 point) as the Light Stance using around the same speed. Also, the Medium Stance seems to have a wider ranged attack then the more conservative Light Stance. It seems this is the choice of most Jedi. But, with the extra damage, you also recieve an extra con. There is a lower percent for blocking in the Medium Stance. But most people wont even know the diffrence. There are two moves you can do in the Medium Stance; the flip finishing move, also called the Forward Flip, Downward Hack. The second move you can do, is a wide range backswing.
Forward Flip, Downward Hack:
This move is performed while someone is directly infront of you. When they are infront of you (within around 3 sabers lengths), push forward, jump, and attack. This should then make your character jump up in the air, do a flip, while flipping do a swing, and land with your saber out. This move can do anywhere from 65-90 damage. If you land with your saber out, and they run into it, it can do 90 damage. It may do more, it may do less. It is a very good move to master, but it has its pros and cons. Being it can be such a strong move, maybe even killing your opponent immidiatly, there are also some bad things. The recovery for this move is horrible. The recovery time is around the same as it would take to execute a Strong Stance attack. If your opponent manages to evade your attack, it could be fatal. The best thing to do, is use it rarely. From past expierinces you may have learned (as I did), the more times you use it, the more it is expected therefore making you predictable. And you never, I repeat NEVER want to be predictable. So only use this move far and few between.
Wide Range Backswing:
This move is performed the same as the Light Stance Back Stab, when the opponent is right behind you, push back and attack. If performed properly, you will swing the saber backward, in an 180 degree style, hitting anything behind you. This attack can do anywhere from 60- 120 damage. It could do more, it could do less. It is a very good move, but the recovery time is a bit slow. The best time to use it is if you are being chased by an opponent, and you stop and use it. They most likely wont expect it, but if they happen to dodge it, be ready to move fast.

The Heavy Stance:
This is a very useful stance, and is the most used stance in the game. This stance is very powerful. It does anywhere from 80-100 damage a hit. It is commonly believed that the best players in Jedi Outcast use Heavy Stance. This stance is good for anything you want to do. This is the slowest of all three stances, but the damage definitly makes up for it. The best counter to heavy stance is Medium Stance. On average Medium Stance, takes around three hits to kill, and for every heavy swing, you can get in one to two hits each time, killing them very easily. But then again, that is if you don't get killed while trying. There are two special moves you can perform in Heavy Stance; Death From Above (DFA) and the Wide Backstab.
Death From Above (DFA):
The Death From Above attack, is one of the most deadly attacks in the game, IF used right.
