SP2 fixes a few security issues. It's quite normal, that many apps (released before SP2) worked on top of those security issues (e.g. a function that leaves a port open to attacks, or so). So SP2 comes and fixes all those, many applications just can't work. Ugh... Well the not serious answer: It's your fault for using Windows and messing around with its Servies ( ), and it's M$'s fault for giving us such a crappy OS that breaks so easily.Serious answer: I don't know... Don't install SP's until you're sure they break nothing As for what you can do now... Well I don't know about security settings for windows (like it has any of that ), but from what I've seen I doubt you can give read/write access to services directly. You should give read/write access to the account under which those services have been executed. Oh well... Actually...the real deal is that i dont play Starcraft anymore. Some time ago there happend...bad things in the battle.net...and i really mean bad... Well after this experience ive decided to never ever show up on the battle.net again...
