Isn't Carmina Burana awesome? I saw your comment on Jacen's profile and the bar scene is really great. I went to Ravinia this summer to see Chicago Symphony and chorus play it. Okay, here's the script I use to connect to the JA home server: Quote: #!/bin/bash sudo /var/qmail/bin/qmailctl stop & mount /mnt/cdrom cd "/home/javaguy/.transgaming/c_drive/Program Files/LucasArts/Star Wars Jedi Knight Jedi Academy/GameData" killall -e -s 9 artsd cedega jamp.exe +set password put_password_here +connect 198.247.172.102:29068 umount /mnt/cdrom & sudo /var/qmail/bin/qmailctl start & Note the "killall" command, which is what kills the artsd. You don't have to know the PID. Note also that mine turns off the mail server and turns it back on when I'm done playing with the qmailctl command. If you're not running a mail server this is unnecessary. If you are, make sure you have a backup server to store-and-forward your messages so you don't lose anything that comes in while you're playing. You find the PIDs of all processes with the "ps" command, and the -A option shows all processes running. Check out the man page for it too. I totally recommend subscribing to Cedega, but not necessarily for a year. Here's how the pricing scheme works: It's $5 per month, with a three-month minimum. While you're a subscriber you get to vote, and you get unlimited downloads of Cedega and Point2play. Point2play sucks. After the first three months you can just keep renewing one month at a time for $5 a month as long as you like--it's only when you first sign up that you have to shell out $15, and that only because there's a three-month minimum.Now a full year would actually be $60, which is a little steep in my book. I sort of recommend subscribing for three months, then canceling and resubscribing a year later to get the latest and greatest. They talk about subscribers always getting the latest release, but they don't put out major releases that often, just tweak it to add support for certain newer games. I don't buy a new game very often, but I am keeping my subscription current until Cedega supports SWBF, and after that I'll probably drop it for a while. I played HL obsessively in my Windows days but haven't touched it since, so I have no idea. I don't have an opinion on the desktop manager thing, as I just picked the one that my distro defaulted to (K). If you try any others, let me know. _______________ My signature is only one line.
