there are 3 writing systems in Japan - Katakana - used for non japanese words, Hirigana - used for Japanese workds, and romanji - the roman characters used to phenetically pronounce words. IE they have roman characters, but just for foreigners"
Actually there are four types of written Japanese if you count romaji. -katakana -hiragana -kanji -romaji Katakana and hiragana are known collectively as kana, but kanji is something else on its own. Actually it's neither, or both. Because both are just phonetic spellings of Japanese words. As you know, real Japanese writing does not use roman characters so it was impossible for me to write it correctly. In any case it got the point across because you knew what I was talking about. I learned to speak Japanese only by listening to the spoken language (I didn't read any books) so I don't know how to spell in romanji. On a side not: I thought it was "was" not "wsa" Just teasing you. I know you speak Japanes better than you do English." Ok, im in a foreign country, with a new keybord, gimme a break. If you want the real Japanese writing its... ‚¹‚ñ‚¹‚¢, wich if you have japanese language support, it should be Hirigana.
