Daylight Savings -Virtue - Mar 27 06:41am

Or words to that effect...

I'm not entirely sure about the rest of the world here, but Britain for one set their clocks forward by one hour early Sunday morning.
As such, everyone please be aware that the Classes that you are enrolled for may be an hour later than they appear on the Classes page.

If there is no-one on the Classes Server when your class is due to start or a different class from the one you enrolled for is in session when you connect, check the Server again an hour later, just to be sure.

East Coast Australians. need to change their gmt to GMT + 9. I've been here long enough to work it out some. heh..

I'm on the East coast... mine only varies from +10 to +11. Right now it's still +11, but on the weekend it goes back to +10.

thats what I thought as well but since we go back an hour and northernn hemisphere goes forward an hour. thats 2 hours difference hence the going back to +9

Lol. Not ALL of the Northwen Hemisphere and not ALL of the Southern hemisphere change. Only certain areas that are far enough away from the equator to be affected by different seasons really do. (I.e. Queensland doesn't have it)

And our normal time is GMT + 10, and DST time is +11, so when we go back to normal, it's still +10.

Other countries do get to choose when DST goes into effect for them. There's been debate in the U.S. to lengthen the amount of time we spend in DST. On a similar note Indiana has joined the 21st century and will be doing DST as well. Now all that's left is the backwards Arizonians.

I go from + 11 to +9 cause of so many random changes and I've found that it works best with academy time.

Edit: DJ_Sith. would it be worth getting an Academy clock or something put on the website on the classes page or something. You change your GMT and it adjusts that time to show. or can people have fun with their own times.

If I set my clock to BST (one hour forward) classes should be at the same time as before right? For example the CO-OP class. It was always at 8pm GMT, and now does it stay at that time?

I think it'll be DST (Daylight Savings Time) soon in america, and since that's where the site is located, the server clock is probably going to update soon too. I'm not sure if that'll make the statement on the classes page incorrect or not.

I have a question, actually :) The classes page says, when ur not logged in, that all times are in GMT. As far as I know, GMT doesnt have daylight savings, or are the times on the classes page seen as British Time?

I think it's about a week or so before the site updates to British Summer Time (+1 hour). At least, I remember it doing so last year.

If you don't have daylight savings where you are, or you aren't going over that period of the year yet, you may want to change the timezone on your profile so that it is one hour behind what it currently is when the site updates, then everything should be normal.

If you do have daylight savings at the moment, you may want to make sure that the timezone is set to be one hour ahead of what it currently is, until the site moves ahead one hour itself - then you should probably change it back.
