A word of encouragement -doobie - Jan 12 04:45am |

Everyone knows about the rampage tidal wave in Asia. We won't dwell on what happened, but we will say that we think everyone should help out in some way. The JAK+ and I considered briefly setting up our own fund for relief, but quickly realized that we would just be acting like the middleman and slowing things down, so we decided to get the word out for relief. I'm sure you've all seen this page on google since it happened, and those are all great things. But I've found two that I particularly like. One is Music For Relief, run by Linkin Park via the Red Cross. It basically guarantees that your money will go to the right place. But if you think that the Red Cross is too big of an organization to do much direct help, I HIGHLY recommend Sri Lanka Sumithrayo. I heard about this one on the radio here in Los Angeles, and it rocks. 100% of the money you donate goes to helping to build these ultra-inexpensive (but not cheap) houses for the thousands of now-homeless people to live in, some permanently and some until they can get permanent digs built after the cleanup. So please, show your awesome JA-ness and donate! It'll help people who need help and make you feel all warm and tingly inside (in the good way)! |

The guys here at Morwell EB Games have donated $1000 to Red Cross. I hope it actually makes a difference, nothing can make up for these people's losses. _______________ You are not your f***ing system specs. Its very kind of you guys to take care of this people.. but there is one thing i want to mention here. In times of great danger and suffer, its very nice to know that human in this world hold together. sure, they need our help now and sure, it is importent that they get this help. but to me it sounds so ironic that they got all attantion of western counrties and people in there. But the not so TV-show sellable problems of the world are totally forgotten. like in Kongo are dying every day more than 1000 poeple of hunger. on other african countrys are dying much more people beacuse of civel wars. millions are infacted by HIV. each time there is some rain and gives people food, there are moscito-plagues of malaria which are deadly to many many people. Did you know that this year billions of locuts eat most of the food in north-east africa and people will starve there vor at least 2 more years before the locuts wont have enough food to grow a dangerous amount of chuildren? did you know that this plague could have been prevented if western countries would had given a hand full of million dollars? all scientists in the country worned for that, but nobody did anything... the danger will come, they said.. but until people are not dying at once, nobody seems to notice. if you are really smart, help this people, because the eyes of the world are now directed to south-east-asia. the people in kongo and other africa countries will get less and less support until that catastrophe in s-e-asia will be forgotten. the people in asia have much help from all around the world, give the money to the ones who are forgotten. thx, daid _______________ Founder of the Fisto Family -|- Member of the mighty FiZZsters!! -|- Owner of the second Bail prize for "BAIL RULES!!" -|- I'll never forget you Jaina! -|- Owner of the one and only autograph of Smily -|- SMILY RULES Sir Daidalus Fisto. Yes, if you can donate to any of those Charities on the google page, I'm sure they would appreciate whatever you can give, now and in the future. It's going to take a long time for these people to recover from this disaster, and continued worldwide support from such charities is one way we can help. I encourage everyone to contribute what they can. _______________ A wizard did it. |
