Going along with what I stated in the post from hell (aka, the State of the Academy Address), we've promoted our first two "emergency time" JATs (meaning that they didn't have to go through the normal Knight process, not that they're temporary... I have a feeling these two are permanent). It is a tremendous honor and privilege for me to present to you two of the finest people the Jedi Academy has to offer:
I know everyone here has a tremendous amount of respect for these two, so please, congratulate them, welcome them, and give them slack as they adjust to their new positions. Oh, and in case you were wondering if we are done with the promotions... we're not... Stay tuned, same bat time, same bat channel. NOTE: for those of you who are getting your panties in a bundle about the fact that these two are my friends, you need to get over it. They earned their promotions fairly. So if you have a problem with it, either take it up directly with me (in ENGLISH) or take your complaining elsewhere. |

I'm sorry Ash, but fortunately the trials didn't last 4 hours.
I think the process took between 1h to 1 1/2 h. What happened is that as I'm at GMT time. So for me trials ended at 4:15 am. weeee late.

From what I heard, Aayla and Jacen had 4 hour trails. Four hours! I can't even commit 4 hours to the college education that I'm paying for. That shows true devotion guys. You guys will be great trainers and bring great hope to the academy. Gav, Aayla and Jacen both deserve to be trainers. It was not handed to them because they are simply Doobie's friends... You seem to forget that three of four council members were doing the trials. (YES they took TRIALS.)
Please keep the jealousy and snotty remarks to a minimum. I've been interested in becoming a trainer for a long while myself. I just see it as a bit more time to prepare.
Oh, and congrats on the promotions guys! The new wave is off to a good start! |

Gav, you completely misunderstood my post. The only thing emergency about their promotions is the fact that our JAT ranks have gotten smaller lately, there has been an outcry for more JATs, and we didn't want to have to wait through the knight rankings to promote these people, we wanted to go ahead and get their chances.
Also, these nominations were approved by the entire Jedi Council and all 6 previous Jedi Trainers. They then had to go through a trial with Silent Whisper and DJ Sith that i was not present for. So you see, the fact that they're my friends has absolutely nothing to do with their promotions, they were completely deserved... just accelerated a bit to fit the needs of the Academy as a whole. I take offense at your accusation, Dav, and I wish you had thought things through or gotten a little bit more info before implying that I only promote my friends and I'm all about ego here... if that were the case, 90% of you would be gone by now. I'd be willing to bet that you couldn't find many, if any, people who say i play favorites (of course, if you can prove me wrong, then I'll have more things to do to improve myself) _______________ -Academy Leader/Dictator/Defeater of DJ Sith and JACen Solo in the JAK+ Tournament -I do think it (the JA) will help convert dozens, maybe hundreds, to the dork nation... --me |

I really don't get why everybody is so happy about this. They might be the right people to be promoted to JAT's, but I don't think this is the right way to put it.
The worst part is the line of massadoobie: "and they are good friends of mine". Do you have to be a good friend of a council member to become a JAT? Besides that, the news is posted as if it is a normal thing, like if it could happen tomorrow that more "friends" of massadoobie are promoted. I'm really angry about everybody taking this so easy. I'm from the Netherlands, and promotions don't work that way. If it was an emergency, it would be a temporary assignment, with the possibility of being promoted again the normal way. Bah! |
