Howdy all. In a bit I'm going to take the JA site offline for a few hours to update its OS. After that I'll address some of the site bugs y'all have reported. Later!
Edit: Aaaaand we're up! Sorry about all that. Lesson 1. Make sure your out of band management is working before you reboot and find the system doesn't come back up. I've learned that updating tons of FreeBSD jails completely sucks. Onto website fixes! |

Heads up, jedis! In a few hours I'll be migrating this site to a new host. After the site reaches its new home it may take a few more hours for the new DNS records to apply. I'll comment on this post when I've started and once more when it's all done. Thanks, everyone!

You may have noticed that as of yesterday, the game servers went down. This is due to the current hosting expiring.
We will be transitioning to a new host soon, bear with us. |

As some of you will have noticed, the forums have had a few problems over the last year. However, it has reached a point where we have accepted that our current forum software is reaching the end of its lifespan. Consequently, we need new forums.
However, the JA site has a number of fairly specialised features. Running a hacked up phpBB/vbulletin/smf (or indeed, any current Open Source/commercial software that I am aware of) is not feasible. We basically need a new site built from the ground up. If you have time to dedicate to this, and are interested in volunteering, email me (solitude AT thejediacademy.net) You will need experience in PHP and MySQL. Knowledge of git/svn/version control would be an asset, but is not essential. This is a great opportunity to collaborate on a small software project, and would make a nice addition to any devs portfolio. This should be a fun experience for all involved, and I know we have the talent here to get it done. |
