Welcome to the Jedi Academy! -doobie- Sep 21 06:59am -18 comments- |

Ladies and gentleman, I would like to officially welcome those of you who are new to the ranks to the Jedi Academy. We're seeing a fairly dramatic rise in applicants lately due to the fact that the game has been out for a few days now, and I just wanted to take this time to say hi. First, a little bit about the Academy. We've been a school for Jedi Knight 2 (and now Jedi Knight: Jedi Academy) since April of 2002, and are extremely excited to be moving into the new game that just came out. For those of you who are new, be sure to examine your welcome email for valuable tips and hints, but here's a few reminders: Be sure to check out both the JA rules and Jedi Academy Holocron for valuable information about both the games and the JA community. Although the Holocron is suited for Jedi Knight 2 right now, much of what is there applies to Jedi Academy as well. Join our Chat room either through the website or through an IRC program like mIRC or Trillian. The IRC channel, located at #Jedi-Academy on irc.quakenet.org, is a great place to meet new people and learn the ropes. Join the servers!. It's one of the main points for being here, so whether you want to play Jedi Knight 2, Jedi Academy FFA, or Jedi Academy Siege, we have a server for you. But don't forget to browse the forums! The Jedi Academy is a thriving community. We like to play and have fun, but we are also there for each other when the dreaded Real Life⢠comes to get us. You'll quickly learn that you'll find a lot of friend here that you'll want to talk to even outside of the game world. And most of all, have fun! That's the whole point, right? The Jedi Academy Council (JACs) are here for you if you need any help (our profiles are at the bottom of every page), and the Teachers and Knights (JATs and JAKs) are here to assist you in any way possible as well. If there's something we can do for you, let us know. Welcome to the Academy, may you learn, have fun, make friends, and have the Force with you, Always. -massadoobie, Leader of the Jedi Academy |

Earlier tonight Johnny-Rico showed me how to spawn some interesting objects into JK:JA that I'd figure I'd show you. So what did we proceed to do? Spawn 5 mutated rancors!. Yeah, we didn't even try to fight them Some of you may be asking, "doobie, why are you posting this? It's not news, it could go in the forums." And my answer is... Because I can! |

The old school.... (updated) -doobie- Sep 18 11:52pm -47 comments- |
This thread and the new game coming out have gotten me thinking... Does anyone out there still have remnants of the "old-school" Jedi Academy? The days when we were just a young website trying to make a name for ourselves? The days of L-Rod, Phr00t, Legolas, JS999, AvALON, and others? Here's what I have so far, email me if you have anything else!
I'll post new things up here as I get them. Search your base folders! Remember, these are JK2:JO files! |

Welp I'm about to head over to CompUSA to pick up the new game. I can't wait to try this out. BUT! We have work to do! We're a school, and if we want to start teaching this game we need to start compiling information. I need someone (or a team of people) to develop a moves list. Say how to do it, what its apparent strengths and weaknesses are, how much Force it uses, etc. Start figuring out combos. I'll help out what I can, but I have a test coming up soon. Hup to it! |

We now have 3 brand licking new JK:JA servers: Home Classes Seige *** PLEASE NOTE THE PORT # is now a '29' instead of a '28' just do Add Favorites, and input the FULL ip address with the :29067 or whatever the port # is. Enjoy!! Love, Huxley ***NOTE**** The servers appear to be very unstable, crashing quite often. Here is how you handle the situation: hit SHIFT-TILDE to bring up your console, type: reconnect and it will pop u right back on Hopefully raven will fix this ASAP and 'bring back' the 'rolling' |
