Even if you don't celebrate it, it is still a great day to relfect on what we are thankful for. I am thankful for the great people here at the academy. What are you thankful for?

JA MP SDK released! -DJ Sith- Nov 27 11:29am -23 comments-
The long awaited Software Development Kit for Jedi Academy has been released! You know what that means! Chosen One tells me he'll be working all weekend to get our admin mod working in JA. It won't be long now! Those who wish to play coder can get the SDK here.

Tournament Results -doobie- Nov 24 06:52pm -2 comments-
Now that the tournament has started, we should start getting results in. You may be wondering, who do I tell and how do I tell them that I lost/won/reffed a match? Well, here's how:

The WINNER (and no one else, so we don't get a flood of emails) should send an email to FaDed, skyler_, and me (doobie) telling us who fought, what the score was (2-1, 2-0, etc.), and who the referee was. You should also make a post on this forum thread so everyone can keep track of the results.

If the winner doesn't report the results he will lead us to assume the match was never fought, and therefore both people would forfeit. So those of you who win should remember to send those results to us :)

EDIT: Also, if you're having trouble finding your opponent, on the last day of each round you should send us an email stating that you did in fact try to contact the person. Tell us what exactly did, and don't lie, because we have ways of finding out if you do (and i don't need to mention that lying is a forfeit :))

Let the games begin!!! -JAcen LW Solo- Nov 23 09:25pm -11 comments-

Competitors still needed for Tourney -doobie- Nov 21 04:05pm -5 comments-
That's right, there are still slots open for the Thanksgiving Invitational Tournament 2! We seem to have a shortage of people East of the Atlantic wanting to sign up, so we've opened that bracket up to anyone, no matter where you live, as long as you think you can make "European times" (mornings and late nights and whatnot). We still have 10 slots open, so check it out here and sign up!

Also, for those of you in the western side of the tournament, the brackets have been posted. Follow the same link to check them out.

Thanksgiving Invitational Tournament 2! -doobie- Nov 14 08:16am -46 comments-
Ladies and gentleman, I would like to cordially invite you to participate in the second annual Jedi Academy Thanksgiving Invitational Tournament (or TIT2 for short). This year's tournament is being organized and ran by everyone's favorite piggy, FaDed, as well as skyler_ and is for Students only (ranked members will be judges)!

Details will follow as they develop, including start dates, but here's what we know. It would be a tournament for JK:JO (since we have JAmod for it, as well as the fact that it's arguably more stable), will be a 64 player tournament (at least that's the goal) set up like the NCAA basketball tournament (or like an expanded version of the world cup without pool play for you non-Americans). Each of the four groups will have 16 competitors. Groups A and B will be comprised of people from North America and Australia (and anyone else in the general vicinity of those areas), while Groups C and D will be composed of Europe, and anyone we have from Africa. People from Asia are free to choose whichever groups fit their time zones better, since the only reason we've broken the groups up like this is to accomodate times around the world.

As for structure, it will be as follows: Round 1 and 2 will consist of a best 2 out of 3 (NF, FF, NF), Rounds 3 and 4 will be best 4 out of 7 (2NF, 3FF, 2NF), Round 5 will be best 4 out of 7 (but with 2FF, 3NF, 2FF instead), and the finals will be... well a lot of fights.

That's pretty much all from now. You'll hear from FaDed in the comments of this news post soon, and we'll post the dates and way to sign up as soon as it's ready. Good luck to everyone!
