IRC Question and Answer session. -solitude- Feb 12 12:49am -0 comments-
On the 19th February 2009, 2000 GMT (time is provisional, but barring anything major should be correct), we will be holding a question and answer session on IRC.

This is your chance to have any (sensible) questions answered and have any issues you have clarified.

There is a chat applet for newcomers to IRC to use here.

Alternatively, instructions on how to set up mIRC can be found here.

Hope to see you all there. :)

Jedi Academy Mod article -doobie- Jan 24 02:47am -5 comments-
Hey look who's still alive... it's me!

I got an email from the editor of a gaming site called IncGamers giving me a heads up about an article they posted about Jedi Academy Mods. I imagine most of us who are still hanging around this joint have at least heard of a lot of these, but if not, enjoy their list!

More staff changes: The Sheriff is back in town! -solitude- Jan 22 08:48pm -9 comments-
I am pleased to announce that Lirael has accepted the position of Deputy Enforcer in addition to her position as Jedi Knight. This is the role previously held by Aron and Hardwired.

She has administrator access and will be able to help out with security issues, applications and other JAC-y duties. :)

It's the... EYE OF THE TIGER!! -Virtue- Jan 18 10:43pm -23 comments-
Okay, I have no idea what posessed me to type that as the title of this news post, give me a break I'm rusty!

Anyways, on with the announcement:
There are a few changes happening right now within the JA Staff; new JAKs are being toggled, new article writers are being brought in, stuff is moving along pretty well - and we've also decided to bring two new JACs into the fold!

The first of these fine fellows probably comes of no surprise to most of you really, he's been a great asset to this place ever since he was given a Staff position. He's helped out with applicants, security issues and game-related issues - and he was only brought in as the euro server manager! Lol. So yeah, everyone go give Solitude a huge pat on the back, he deserves it!

Secondly is a guy who's been my personal deputy for quite some time - he's one of those people that's always there, but you'd never know it. Lol. Please also congratulate Kaelis, our second new JAC!

So with that said and done, let's continue making this place awesome! :D

PS: Hi!

New Staff Members wanted. -solitude- Jan 10 11:34pm -8 comments-
We are looking for new staff members to help maintain the Holocron and the Archives.

However, I would like to stress that staff members are in no way "higher" than other students. The rank solely exists for honoring them and pointing their work out.

So, if you wish to contribute to the Academy in either of these projects, email: solitude@thejediacademy.net

The deadline for applications is 10th February 2009.

Server passwords have changed -solitude- Jan 04 11:25pm -3 comments-
Due to a security incident, all server passwords have been changed.

Please check the server page for the new passwords.

I would like to remind everyone, new and old, that the rules are not optional. Ignorance is no defence.

Season's Greetings -solitude- Dec 25 11:47pm -8 comments-

Merry Christmas from all the staff at The Jedi Academy.

We have a new Knight -solitude- Dec 21 07:49pm -9 comments-
... and it's about time too.

Everyone head over to Maher's profile and give him a big pat on the back. :)

Slight web server downtime -DJ Sith- Dec 12 07:42pm -9 comments-
I'm sorry for the short notice, but I've been told to relocate the ja web server from one side of the colocation room to another. Downtime will occur in roughly 1.5 hours, and will last at most 1 hour. Affected services include the JA website, all hosted websites, the JA email server, and the various hosted teamspeak servers. I'll fire back when it's up. Come to think of it you won't be able to read this while the server is off! HUT HUT

Edit: it's all back up now. Let me know if you see anything weird.
