Official Skinpack v. 2 -solitude- Apr 22 09:39pm -2 comments-
There have been a number of recent requests for more skins and hilts.

Additionally, it has been several years since the release of the first official Academy skinpack.

In light of the many new skins and hilts that have been created since then, a new official skinpack is to be created.

For this to work, we need volunteers who can rigorously test each skin and hilt proposed for glitches, game-altering behaviour and so on.

So - could any volunteers who would like to work on this drop me an email (solitude@thejediacademy.net). When we have assembled a team to work on this, we will have a suggestions thread where everyone else can post ideas for the team to look at.

April fools clarification -Huxley- Apr 09 06:56pm -5 comments-
Just to clarify - the April Fools joke that *I* posted, was _not_ my idea, nor was it anything I worked on directly - I was just the one who put the post up.
The credit should be given to Fullmetal D'Kana, who came up with the idea, created the image and spent much time working on its perfection and writing the news post to sound like a Raven news article!
Also Setementor was the first one to propose doing such an event to the JAK forums, and kept up with ideas and making this happen.
And I'm quite certain there were several other people that helped make this go, but I am at a loss for figuring out who else it was!!

So please give them some cookies and some props for doing the brunt of the work - I refuse to take the credit!!!

DNS Changes -doobie- Apr 03 03:00am -4 comments-
DJ "I'm super lazy but still kind of awesome" Sith finally got around to setting up DNS yadayada at his new house of internet worship (aka his new job, which isn't really all that new anymore), finally bringing to an end our complete and total theft of services for quite some time from his old job.

So if you have problems accessing the site or may have had problems or will have problems in the future and are reading this post in which the issues are in the past while you're in the present, which was once the future (yeah, I've been watching WAY too much Lost and Terminator)... anyway, if any of that applies to you, DNS issues are why and it should resolve itself once Skynet finishes distributing itself into all of our computers via the bogus and utterly disappointing Conficker virus (or until DNS servers around the world get updated, whichever is first).

Oh and Huxley... even though anyone who fell for your post for more than 2.2 seconds is a complete drooling case of the dummies, your little joke well played. Well played indeed!

ANYWAY, carry on! So Say We All! :)

2009 March 31st -- Jedi Knight: Redemption has been announced! -Huxley- Apr 01 07:08am -20 comments-
This game (also considered Jedi Knight 4) is a long awaited breath of life into the fan favorite series.

According to Raven, the storyline will take place after the events of Jedi Knight: Jedi Academy (assuming players played through the dark side ending)

The game will start with Kyle Katarn flashing back to his years at the Imperial Academy. Players will play as Kyle with a completely re-done helmet-cam style HUD as a stormtrooper.

The game will loosely highlight key moments in the Jedi Knight series that led Kyle to accepting the lightside of the force.

This is done to instill "hope" that Jaden can be returned to the light side of the force.

Jedi Knight: Redemption will have the longest and by far the most in-depth single player out of any of the games in the Jedi Knight series thus far. Promising at least 24 hours of gameplay in single player alone.

Here is the only available screenshot: click here

Enjoy!

We have another new Knight! -solitude- Mar 22 09:38pm -17 comments-
I am pleased to announce that Masta has passed his trials with flying colours.

For the first time in years, we held a Knighting ceremony. The demo of it (taken from Masta's point of view) can be found here.

Congratulations Masta. :)
