Good day to all you siege fans out there!

First of all,

For all of you who dont know what they are, Speeder bombs are just the speeders from the garages on Desert siege, i found that the most effective way to get the communications stations door and control panels down was to drive a Speeder bike up to them and then fire at the Speeder till it blew up, if you get the speeder close enough you can usually destroy the door panels in 2 go's and the control panels inside the stations in 1 go. Its much more effective than weapons as the Speeders blast radius usually instantly kills any enemies that are too close.

Secondly,

Lift spamming, laming, whatever you want to call it, is OK as long as it is not forbidden by the host or server. If your teammates tell you to stop it, ignore them. But if they tell you to stop it for a second or third time, then it probably would be wise to do what they say, lest you get kicked. But if your team only tells you once, then continue with the spamming. Like JavaGuy said in his post a while ago "The lift button was put there be developers. Use it (and count on it being used against you when you're the attacker)".

When playing the Imps on Hoth, DO NOT KILL THE WAMPA!!!!! u can lure the Wampa out of its cave towards the enemys spawning point, just fire a couple of shots at it then run towards the exit on the rebels side, keep doing this until u lure it out of its cave, dont fire at it too much though or you may kill it. With any luck it should start eating the rebels as they spawn, allowing you to use the following confusion and sneak in to the bridge control room, or if you've already extended the bridge then fire at the shield generator, just dont get eaten by the Wampa yourself!

One big problem with this is that sometimes, even when you've told your teammates not to kill the Wampa (always tell them before you try it) some idiot who was ignoring you will kill it just as you get to the cave exit, destroying all your good work. If this happens unload a couple of rounds of repeater fire into his head and then ask him why the hell he didnt listin to you.

When attacking on hoth and you come across enemy techs puttin up shields on the doors, get as many assault as you can, get 2 fireing at the shield, and 2 to fire concussion blasts through the door when the shield comes down, this should HOPEFULLY get the shield down, and the concussion blasts should kill any people on the otherside.

Also when on Hoth, when trying to complete the 1st objective (gettin through the blast doors)TAKE THE ATST UP THE MIDDLE WAY , between the 2 bunkers toward the doors, DO NOT go up the side way, because the defence turrets will pick the ATST off easy. DONT BOTHER TRYING TO TAKE THE TURRETS OUT just go straight up the middle way in the ATST, tis much quicker.

Hope this helps

No problem! An extra stealth tip: To avoid being seen while you have a lightsaber, deactivate it. The noise and light it produces catches the enemies' eyes.

Ecepeexo Utanbar has a great idea there! When on Korriban, when trying to get into the blue crystal room, be a tech,(i think its tech)and use mind trick on any enemys in there. Then jump up the wall just to the side of the entrance and jump over to get the crystal. Thnks to mind trick the enemys wont see ya untill u take the crystal.

Thnks Ecepeexo for the info!

If you become a Force-user that has the power Mind Trick, don't hesitate to use it! Few people know the glorious things you can achieve with Mind Trick :). If someone uses Mind Trick on you though, use Force Sense.

Sup,

Teamwork would be great, if we all had headsets, and a TS server for each team to use.

But when I am defending the CC, I cant take the time to type:

"I have <something> mined at every entrace/exit/etc either stay in or out"

And yes im sure you can type that shorter but, when jedi are throwing those damn hot glow sticks at you its hard to think straight.

Of course u can win without spamming the elevator, but when ur getting desperate fairness doesnt seem to matter anymore. I have been the victim of spamming and its easy to get around, just go the other way! It takes 17 seconds to break the lock on the hangar door to the infirmary, simple as that, ususlly when you get to the end of the corridor the enemy team is running around the infirmary like headless chickens, placing trips and the such. Somehow there too busy to defend the only other way in.

Siege isnt a play fair game type like FFA or Duel, u have a time limit, and u must do anything you can to acomplish ur goals within the time limit.

Teamwork is all important, but very rarely happens as people usually want to do their own thing.

It's a game, but can't you win without having to block the elevator or the different doors with shields? Yes you can!!!

It's a game, it's meant to be fun. How fun is it when someone's not giving you a single chance. I left those methods behind me in Counter-Strike.

I might go a bit hard on your methods now. Because I've done and been the victims of for example the elevator laming. It's ok to mine the elevator shaft but not the button. I like to give my opponents a bit of a chance. Then they won't get angry and leave. When my team were the victim of some guy laming in the elevator half of the team disconnected.

The opposing team should instead team work. Miners place mines in front, next up soldiers. Rocket soldiers backing them up and then jedi to hunt down people who get past the defence.

What are your views of teamwork?

+This isn't the middle ages. :D:D:D

Its better to win a battle by any means than to lose. When bisieging castles in the medieval ages the leaders of the attackers and defenders would often do unfair things like catapulting dead cows over the castle walls to spread disease to the people inside, with lots of people ill or dying the castle defenders would surrender, i dont call this fair, do you? They still did it though. Do you call listening to the floor to check whether there are any tunnelers underneath an unfair advantage? Im sure if you were the defenders facing impending doom you wouldnt find any method an "unfair advantage"

Obviously this is a game, but it uses the same principles as real life.

Fairness is different when applied to Duel and FFA, but this is siege, there is no fairness in siege.

ALWAYS REMEMBER THAT IT IS BETTER TO LOSE A FAIR BATTLE THAN TO WIN AN UNFAIR ONE!!!

So about the laming. It might be smart and effective. But be a sportsman FFS

Sup,

Instead of a having your tech(s) go for the locked door have them shoot his/her (charged) weapon up the lift shaft, it will do dmg to and immobilize the person spamming the lift. The only has to be done for a second, so that a Jedi can jump up there and the objective is complete.

About your criteria for something lame/cheap.

1.) Its easy to obtain
2.) Its easy to keep

Assume your playing hot again, and you are trying to get the access codes to the computer panel.

The other teams techs place sheilds in the doorway exiting the room, where the codes are kept, then the techs (which are weak at fighting) run into the room fight for a second and are killed. They respawn, and place another sheild, run into the room, hopefully you have picked up on the patten by now.

Your criteria:
1.) Its easy to obtain.
Well its pretty damn easy for a tech to deploy
a sheild, they spawn with one.
2.) Its easy to keep.
Well unless the other team doesnt kill them, which they will do cause other wise the techs will just kill the team not attack them, again the techs win.

If a team have say 3 or 4 techs, this idea is, easy to obtain, and easy to keep. Is it lame, NO its smart.

In siege the goal is to find ways for you team to gain an advantage, and exploit it to win.

Well, I just wanted to give my two (euro) cents about this elevator thingy.
But first, lets consider this: What could be defined as "lame" or "cheap"?
IMHO, I would call lame or cheap anything that responds to both of these criterias (sp?):
- It gives one team or one person an overwhelming advantage (of course, both teams may use it, one for each round, but I'll talk about that later)
- this advantage is easy to obtain and keep

Now, I'm sure you'll all agree that elevator spamming isn't very hard. I bet a drunken monkey could do it just as well as the best JKA player in the world :D

Secondly, It does give an overwhelming advantage. The elevator is the easiest way to get to the infirmary. And, with one way closed, all of the remaining rebels (all minus one, what a difference </sarcasm>;) will defend the other way, which, needs to be hacked to proceed.
The hacking process is extremely long -I haven't counted, but it's still hella long- In the meanwhile, the tech cannot move or defend himself. And we all know techs arent exactly meant for soaking up damage. If this doesnt convince you, let me remind you that any explosive, no, wait, pretty much anything shot at the tech, if it doesnt kill him, will still move him, which will force him to restart the hacking from scratch.
Let's say that by some miracle he does manage to open the door. Let me see, how many snipers/ trip mines will there be at the other side of that corridor (which, because of its limited size, is even easy to defend for a Jedi)? yeah, I think you get my point.

Somebody (sorry, i'm not good for names and i'm too lazy to check) said that the button is there to be pressed. Do you seriously believe the elevatr was meant to be able to just stick there and never go down? If one of the entries is supposed to be this easy to close, I dont even see why they put it there in the first place.

now, I already see the argument I'll get. "Both teams can do it, they both get the chance to be rebels..."
Of course both teams can do it. But come on, do you actualy have FUN with this? let's start with the guy spamming the elevator. Hmm, unless he enjoys playing with the elevators in his real life, I don't believe he's actually having fun. Let's go on with the imperials. Well, I guess this can be very frustrating to them, and can you blame them for it? they might have been owning the other team, they might be vastly superior to them in skills, but they still get held there 5+ minutes.
Now, let's go on with the rebels. What kind of mission do they have? "Your objective is to stop the imps from hacking the door. You respawn closer to the action, and their tech needs to stand still long enough for hell to freeze over. You just need to hit him for the hacking to restart. In addition, you also have turrets to cover you" I mean, unless you played the entire SP with all cheats on, on easy settings and had fun with it, I dont see how you could be enjoying this.
I think this is all, thx for reading the whole thing :P.

Well, if speeder bombs really have been used since ja came out, than all credit to whoever invented them first. When i had the idea to use Speeder bombs about 2 months ago, i had never seen em used before. Now whenever im on Desert Siege i always tell my teammates to use them. We have had many a quick victory by using Speeder bombs, and i hope all you siege fans out there will use them more often now.:D

(Jedi)Obi-JK is right, siege is completely different to FFA and Duel where honor is concerned, "all for one, or all for nothing". The phrase "all's fair in love and WAR" also springs to mind.

Sup,

Seige is an entriely differnt game then we are used to the ''honor'' involved in dueling has no businiess on a seige server.

1.) No lame, in seige you had BETTER lame, you think someone can put up a chat box so u run by then get sniped in the back, nope killem. No worries

2.) The envirment is there to be used both ways, always take advantage of it.

3.) The kamakize speeders, if the other team is that worried they can dedicate some1 to making sure the speeders are always exploding and so the offense cant get to them. Lame, well no more lame than using an exploding bike to do your dirty work.
