Just to reiterate what I already reiterated, this is an UNOFFICIAL group run by students for students. The administration is only offering help getting it off the ground, nothing more nothing less. And who do you think of? As far as I can see it, there has not happened any mockery here. Students said what they think about it, some of them very clear, some of them a bit more diplomatic. So? You cant blame the guys for not liking your ideas, can you? Honestly, I am not mad at FaDed, however he needs to make a decision. I am playing devils advocate to envoke that thought process. hm concerning that JAT JAK issue... when I joined, in late January, I met some JAT occasionally on the servers, and we talked, dueled, whatever.... just they were "present". Well, as I've said, it depends on the students as well. Jesus, dont be insulted if we dont duel you even though "you're next in line" Serious, should we keep track of every student who has challenged us and duel them right form that list?? But I dont fully understand what's going on right now ^^ I thought you, Mobility, were mad at Faded... or did I get something wrong? Now who and why does anyone owes him an apology? OMG, I love DJ, DJ u are tha shiznit. WELL PUT M8! And to comment on JAK JAT ignoring new guys. Well this same thing happened to me too. I was ignored, wouldn't duel me but would turn away just to duel a buddy even when i was "in line next" to duel. I'm not making this up, I really thought JAK JAT *were* snobs. BUT now that i have hung out with u all i can say u are all cool and great ppl. u have to think though, if i(or any new guy) wasn't as persistent to hang out and know every1, one might just go back to their pubs. Oh and FaDed, U R awesome man. U showed me JA and u helped me train/learn YDFA and RDFA when I first came. Thanks DJ for those words. That is the most encouragement we have received up to this point. btw, the JA link was going to be set up just to link back to the Academy. If you want me to take it out though, I have no problem with that. Honestly, I am over the bitterness about it. I really, in my heart feel bad for FaDed. His decision on this is not his own, and I know this. He cares to deeply about it. The overwelming pressure he has received from his peers and certain superiors has to mess with him. As far as I was concerned, I really could not let those opinions effect me because I knew this was being supported by the JAC's, (well at least half of them). That was until I was made to take JASE out of my tag along with SleepyD who was forced to take it out by several others. I really feel there are people who owe FaDed an apology. I don't need or require one. If FaDed changes his mind and still wants to proceed, I am behind him. I have not had the chance of talking to Jedi Prodigy yet about this, but I know he is prepared to do what it takes to ensure the JASE is a success. JASE = To be continued..............? Geez, that sounds bitter Moby. First of all, I dont feel any satisfaction seeing this project dieing under this circumstances. I didnt like it, yes, but my dislike was only directed towards the project, not towards the guys who were doing it. I honestly feel sorry for you, but I cannot fully understand you. What do you mean by you were ignored by the JAKs? The only time I've met you we were having a normal talk, liek everyone else. It was a bit messy with us doing a ffa, but I didnt ignore you at all. If you had asked me anything I would have responded like to everyone else. I would be suprised if any other JAK knowlingly ignored you. They all know about their duties, why shouldnt they help you out? On the other hand, what do you expect? With over 200 students we cannot keep up with everyone feelings and thoughts. If you want something, come to us. Dont expect us to come to you Anyway, if you still seek anything, just ask me. Like everyone else.Concerning Faded I wont say anything. And btw, I still think it would be a nice idea to have a sort of student recognition. The only thing I dont like is creating new ranks and pushing bossy behaviour. Wow. I leave for a weekend and look.. I daresay this is the busiest forum thread I've ever seen outside of Crazy Stuff. I'm going to start off with a few facts I know about this.- The JASE is an organisation that is completely outside the academy, yet made of academy members. - If you want to wear a JASE tag on the servers knock yourself out. The JATs and JAKs should NOT be reprimanding you. - The JASE and the ranking structure we have have *apsolutely* nothing to do with eash other. - Faded and Mobility aren't on power trips. If you think they are please email me and I'll chew you out for 2 pages. They're just trying to help. - FaDeD came to me with this idea for giving students recognition outdise of dueling ability, which our rhnking system does.. So if you're a good skinner, mapper, RP'er, etc the JASE will recognise ya and pin a medal on your chest. The staff (JAT and above) had a meeting a few weeks ago where we saw FaDeD's original plan and liked it. We also saw it as a way for students to get their voice heard by a kind of representative. - Yes. FaDeD is a JAK hopeful. He began a trial for Knight and as of yet has not passed. He's afraid what will happen to him if he becomes JAK and still has anything to do with the JASE. (I'm breaking a rule here to make a point. IT's good to be the King .) How fucked up is that? That this man wants to try for 2 things at once and try to help out only to get shit on by the community here. Thanks alot, guys.- The JASE would have no authority on the servers AT ALL. Replace the name "JASE" with "LAMM" or "KOI" or the "JA SWG PA" and hear how ridiculous any notion like that would sound. The JAKs or JATs shouldnt feel like their authority is being underminded. If you feel that you will lose authority on the servers email me and I'll reply back with 2 pages of lecture on thats not all the JAKs and JAT are about. I think thats the most of my observations and thoughts on this. I do have this advice for Faded & Mobility (brought up by nightcrawler): KEEP IT SIMPLE. As you can see people are reacting poorly to your idea. Bring it back to the basics. Don't have so much heirarchy and pomp and circumstance. Boil it down to the basics of what you're trying to accomplish with the JASE. Your website says you are part of the JA. Take that part out. You can be a political organisation.. but you are outside of the JA's official structure. Doobie and I thought it was a good idea to give students recognition for extra things, so we made news posts and all that jazz for ya. _______________ My car is made of Nerf. Hey we should take this incredibly large post and make a book. We will entitle it, "JASE < JAK" We can pass it out at Christmas time to all the JAK's so they can have nice warm and fuzzies with thier egg nog. Speaking of giving the JAK's nice things; it looks like we will be giving you something else. The satisfaction of watching JASE die at the hands of a JAK Status. Thats right, our beloved founder FaDed has decided that he can no longer involve himself in JASE and that, "Jedi Prodigy and I will have to take it from here." I have news for you. The only reason I have spent hours on this thing, building the site, configuring the server, supporting you, FaDed, is because of this. When I joined the Academy, the hailed JAK's, servants to all, never gave me a second look, never once welcomed me or offered their services or even acknowledge I existed. Then one day I met you, FaDed, and you befriended me, trained me, became my friend. Your classes were the greatest and I had been to most of the official ones. (Freaking joke turned FFA) You cared genuinely about the JA and everyone else. Because of that fact, I dealt with your ego, your flaws, even let you call me your padawan although you were still a student and I received much crap for it. So, when you approached me with JASE and asked me to devote myself to it, I was eager to help you, eager to make a system that succeeded for students. However, now that I look back. I beleive it all was a power thing. YOU insisted this was not. But the way I see it, if you really beleived in JASE and you were not eager for some sort of power and status, you would not have dropped it LIKE THAT, when you knew it MIGHT jeapordize your coveted JAK status. You just want to move up no matter how you do it. You tried to create it yourself, found out it might not work, and bailed on it. Well, congratulations FaDed and the rest of you eating popcorn. The JA remains the same. JASE IS DEAD. We now can breathe a little easier. Now FaDed, I know you probably think how inappropriate it is for this post to be here. And now you have to think long and hard how to reply to make this seem favorable towards you. BOTTOM LINE: Everything you said the JASE stood for, every area it made up for where you felt the JAK's fell down, you are giving it up to become the very thing that drove you to create this society. LMFAO!!!!! Geez, probably made some more enemies with this post, however, everyone will know the truth behind the downfall of JASE. You proabably should pat FaDed on the back for coming to his senses. I know I do. Sigh, I'm really getting tired of this whole matter, but please, as you wish: I don't want anybody to mock anyone, no way. This should be sure anyway, as a knight my responsibilities are to make everyone as comfortable as possible. My statement that students should mock back when they get mocked by others was not too serious. However, with creating this extern community there is a danger that those who are part of it start to believe they are better/more excellent or anything else than others. Therefore it may happen that some of them mistreating other students, becoming arrogant and mocking others. Several other student have been concerned about this topic and it *is* a possible danger. So, my "unofficial" advise is to strike back when they get attacked (even orally). The easiest way to prevent those extern communities feeling better than "ordinary" students is to stop this trend in its roots. That may explain my little advise that common students shouldnt put up with beeing treated like "lower" students. I'm not saying the JASEs/m00s/sitters or anybody *will* become abusive, but still a see a danger, especially with the JASEs, as they are most serious, of them feeling better. Let's just hope it wont happen. By the way, one could even already see a start in this silly arguement. Your statement that only Cloaked Thunder got the point and everyone else not could be taken a bit rude and offensive. But let's stop this right here, there is no point of discussing any tiny detail. I just want to remind everyone (JASE and JA side) that we're actually on the *same* side. If you dont like JASE, ignore it and treat them well, like everyone else. If you are part of JASE, act like your rules say you should, and dont even think about feeling you're better than ordinary students. I still completely FAIL to see the point of this entire exercise. There is no need to create yet more levels in a perfectly good admin system, official or not. They will be seen as yet another load of JAK equivelents. It ends up turning into a overly complicated bureaucracy as bad as the current Brittish government. I don't think any1 should be mocking anyone, we are all old enough(i think) to be a little more mature about the whole thing than some have been with this. If you (every1) like it then good- join up -if u don't well thats fine too. This is an attempt to help people grow within the community, and also a different way for students to have fun and help others. BUT I see where the JAK *COULD* think they're toes are being stepped on.
