Greetings,
it will only be a few more weeks until the Jedi Academy has officially been around for five years. For an online community, this is a very long time. Some of you may remember the first days of the Academy, others have joined in somewhere along the way, like myself. In any case, the upcoming aniversary is quite an achievement of what I think is a great community to be part of. This should not pass by unnoticed. Hence, there is going to be an event which will bring back some of the old days' feeling: A Jedi Knight II: Jedi Outcast Tournament! This time it is going to be there unless something very extreme happens. I would like those who are interested in taking part to sign up in this thread. Signing up is rather easy; just let me know you are interested and I shall add you to the list of participants below. On June 7th, 2007 the Jedi Academy will have been around for five years exactly. This is the last day during which you can still sign up. Everyone who signs up after midnight, BST, will need to be a reserve. My plan is to launch the tournament on the eighth. Next are a few details, so you know what you are signing up for. General The tournament will be a one versus one double elimination tournament. It will consist out of a mixture of NF and FF duels in the Jedi Knight II: Jedi Outcast game. You can sign up by posting a comment below, from May 27th until June 7th. Rules These are the basic rules to the Tournament. Although this is likely the way the Tournament is going to be run, changes can be made if absolutely necessary. Rule #1: All matches must have a referee, though this can be any member of the Jedi Academy. (JAK+ overseeing matches in JKII will probably be hard to find.) The referee's decision is final. Rule #2: Some attacks are not allowed. Thus far do not use spinning. Rule #3: Contact your opponent as soon as possible. Rule #4: In case there is no duel, it is up to the referee who proceeds, based on the amount of effort the duellers have put in to arrange a match. The one having made the most effort will advance. Rule #5: Complete the duels in the prescribed order. (The order shall be in the upcoming thread.) Prizes Although it is always fun to have prizes, there has been some trouble with them last time. I shall try my best to arrange some, but I will not guarentee anything. Afterall, the tournament is a celebration of the Academy's fifth aniversary. On another note, there is interest in JKII classes. I would love to cater for a few, but on the one hand I lack time and on the other I lack expertise. However, there have been JAK+ in the past who used to teach JKII. If you like you can leave a comment in this thread, stating which class you would like to run. I shall put one up for you, which you can then teach. We will all learn more about JKII in preparation for the tournament, and having ex-JAK+ teach JKII classes will bring back some of the old times which is pretty much what this celebration is about. If anyone wants to practice contact me. I got the hang of a lot of stuff I forgot tonight and am willing to give one on one lessons. I would teach a class but I don't know if I have all my knowledge back yet and am not comfortable in teaching. I am in GMT-5 time and am free different times all week. Yeah, the past brought about some crazy moments lol.
Being a jat back then wasn't exactly the easiest either when you had certain people claiming you would do such and such like scripting botting or whatever it'd be. Wow..can't beleive its been so long since...I still remember some things as if they happened not long ago. yeah, i went through fishkill, wappingers, poughkeepsie, even checked beacon then finally newburgh. Most didnt have it, but offered to order it for me...oy the others that DID have it, were either charging full price or close to full price for it. Which is kinda sad when i see games like WoW and Guildwars there set at 19.99. Silly to have JO at 39.99. Hell even their website says used 29.99 lol Strangely enough they didnt have any "used" ones.

Looks like im out... After a long quest to find my JO cd's, i finally managed to get em...only to find that they've been viciously scratched up. I blame random wolverines that or JJ using his remote telekinesis to claw them up lol

It's good to see all of you guys join in. I've just updated the list a minute ago, I would've done so earlier, but the site went offline for a while. I only just found out it's back lol.
Sh0j - I haven't included you yet, because from what I gathered, it sounds like you still need to order JK2. If you can do that in time for the Tourney it's fine and I'll definately add you to the list, just lemme know. 
Finally, some of the ex-JAK+ have offered to maybe teach classes again if people'd like you to do so. (Well, I for one would appreciate it ) If you're interested in teaching a class again please leave the following details in a comment:
Class Title Description Max Students Skill Level Class Type Game Server Date Time Duration Next Class (Weekly/None) The 'game' and 'server' options are a little obvious but I included them in the list to be complete, heh. So yeah, if you're interested, please leave a comment on this thread and I'll put a class up for you. If you need to arrange anything, such as NPCs or map/gametype changes, please contact me or another JAK+ to assist the classes. (I can't guarentee anything because we may not always have time, but Ill definately try to assist as many classes as possible.) EDIT: Just in case, remember tomorrow is the last day people can sign up.
