You can't just get a master for nothing, but if you fit the requirements, a ranked member may take you on. But as I said, you have to fit that specific master's requirements. Some main factors a master will look out for when choosing their padawans, are:
Patience: Nobody is going to appreciate being chased around everywhere they go, being asked if they will be somebody's master by somebody they hardly know. Give it all some time, get to know the person you want to be your master. When you become somebody's padawan, you represent them and your attitude reflects back on them. They need to be sure they know who they are dealing with. Activity: Don't forget to remain active! How are you going to get to know people and even be able to learn from a master if you aren't online regularly? Attitude: This should be obvious, but not many will want to take you on if you have a negative attitude. The whole point in being patient and getting to know somebody you wish to train you, is so that they can evaluate your attitude. If that's a terrible attitude, there's no point in really trying to get a master until it has improved. You can post here if you are looking for a master. This will not guarantee you get a master, but it will allow everybody to know that you are searching for one. Remember that having a master is not essential. There have been many students that have joined the academy and become very skilled players without ever having masters. Other ways to learn include classes, holocrons, archives, forums, live chats and even the game itself, where you can ask anybody for help and find that most are willing to offer it. 
I don't know where you can find Xanatos' hilt, but I do remember that it was uploaded to the server recently. Try disabling "Allow Downloads" in Setup > Game Options and see what happens. This comment was edited by Setementor on Dec 04 2006 02:15am. |
