Allrighty folks, concerning the lead Knight Issue. You will be hearing from La Magra soon. But I would like to clarify a few issues here.
The lead knight position will be occupied by a JAT not a knight. The job of this JAT will be to coordenate the knights effords, giving them specific tasks, listen to their ideas and complaints and transmiting them to the JAT and JAC, etc. Many ppl forget that the Knight rank is (IMO) a staff job. Thats why there is(or will be) a limit for the number of knights , and they are chosen by nomination. I see this rank as a junior JAT position. The reason we decided do have this JAT working wiht you is beacause, as it happends with JAT's , your work needs some organization. Basically we need to decide what your functions are in reallity and get "each and everyone" of you performing your dutys (meaning no more cuchy job's, if you got the rank you will need to work to keep it ).
As you know the JAT's have a lead Trainer , Avalon, wich was apointed after Silent Whisper left us. The lead knight will have a very simillar job to his. Dice, Av became lead trainer after he was promoted to JAC not while he was a JAT himself. The same thing will hapend to the lead Knight. He will be a JAT. This JAT will be elected by all the knights by e-mail.You will all receive a mail from Magra or myself with details on how to do this. - Jace PS: I also think that Knights should kep the admin, specialy if they are being allowe to teach. good decisions... but as most of my fellow knights i dont agree with the idea of taking the JAK-account down. as dicemaster said very good, why should you take down a working thing? the abuse has got better but thats (partly) because of the knights takeing knights away, there is a danger that the abuse will come back... so... why not just let it as it was?
beside, how can a JAK help with classes (enforce silence) if they dont have jk powers? dont get me wrong, 90% of the problems can be settled with words and nice gestures... but thats only because we have the JAK powers as an ultima ratio. get me? people have respect and listen to JAK becuase of their powers... take em away and were half efficient. and i havent heared much of JAK-abuse trouble

Bout the points system thing, I can see getting rid of it is kinda a good idea cos not everyone that joins the academy is new to the game. A lot of people already know pretty much all there is (I said pretty much  )and so sitting through a learner class on how to do a normal heavy swing can seem a bit pointless. Not only is it wasting their time, but its wasting a spot in the class that could be taken by someone who really needs it.
Is the new system gonna revolve around th sequence of classes thing. You know how some classes are in chapters that say "don't come to chapter 2 until you've done 1" stuff like that. That'd be a good idea, students have to complete say these 3 chapters on movement, plus these 4 single classes on dueling. You could then list the classes the student had passed on their profile, which would look pretty kool (more work for you guys). Trials could be made a bit more formal, this might not work though. If all trials are taken whenever they can be, but then say once or twice a week, all the guys that just got promoted meet for a ceremony, so that people can see who has been promoted, and will make the promotee feel like they have actually acheived something, not just a name change or a stepping stone to the next promotion. _______________ Apprenctice of Jedi Master Ascari (deceased) Descended from a line of great Jedi Will argue any point of view from any side

I just wanted to let every one know the besides myself, Corruption, Pread, and Rauc are also seeking outside help. Thank you for your dedication guys. Keep up the good work. As DJ said outside interest doesn't seem to high at this point. So if you are some one that plans on being around for a while, and you would like to see more servers for other areas of game play(CTF/Hydroball,dedicated dueling,Euro classes only) as I do, please show your support when doobie gets the paypal account set up. If we all pull together as a unified community we can do some really cool things. It doesn't have to stop at servers either, if we all chiped in to help we could afford some really cool tourament prizes as well. Even though we all know who would end up with them, cough..Shadow Sith...cough...,excuse me, damn cold. Anyway part of my efforts have been to net some cool stuff from some big names in the gaming industry to use as tourney prizes. I'm not getting much feed back yet,but I did at least hear back from one of the companies. It didn't net us any donations,however they did like what they saw when they visited the web site. This may not seem like much, but if we were to rasie enough capital I may have a better chance of negotiating at least a discount price on some of thier products. 2 comments. I think first off that the lead knight should be a knight. For example the lead trainer, who is now a council member was once a trainer. Therefor i think the lead knight should be a knight. 2, why get rid of knight powers. I think that they are very effective, and i know for a fact that theses been times where i've needed to use them, even in the past week. I disagree with taking them off, but then again i couldn't make the meeting so i couldn't voice my opionon. But anyway thats what i have to say
listen or not up 2 you guys Dice besides what everyones said in this post, why get rid of a good thing? if its working it should stay even if it never gets used. I dunno about you guys, but i don't see a lot of laws being taken off because they work. If something works stick with it. O yeah and if a knight can run classes, i personally think thats one of the most needed time. Some issues can be settled verbally by simply asking someone to stop and discussing why something should not be done, just like Arcuss said. Others, however, cannot.
I believe the powers should not be taken away for those reasons. Not everyone will listen to you telling them that what they are doing is wrong and should this be the case then what if a JAT on IRC isn't even available? Then what are you going to do, keep trying to convince him to stop? If someone could pull that off, I'd give them a frikin sticker. So basically without a Knight's admin powers, things could get a little out of hand when you think about it. _______________ Luke Skywalker

Arcuss is right most disagreements can be solved by explanation, however as Corruption said, there are a select few out there that try and cause trouble, not many but still i think a few is too many. So i think the jk access should be kept and used only when needed (which is how it is with me anyway).

that do everything in there power to be difficult and push u as far as u will go be4 resulting in using jk access. They will just take advantaged when we dont have it. They are cheeky even tho they can be kicked. There was one person i was trying to tell that guns wernt allowed after 6 attempts of asking him to stop running away while i was trying to pm them. i was forced to use sleep, but then they dc 5 times and in the end i had to kick them be4 the responded. bad very bad _______________ - CoRRUPTioN |

Just a note on Knights & Admin rights. Just over the last few days I have been witness to a couple of incidents were a student was misbehaving. In both incidents it was a newer member. In both incidents all it took was for me to ask the person to please stop doing the thing that was against the rules, and explaining why what they did was not cool. I explained the fact that the Academy is based on respect towards others, and I ended each incident with a request to check the rules and a friendly "welcome to the Academy".
I feel I handled the incidents fairly well and without admin powers. I'm not saying that Knights should not have these options. In fact I think it's a good tool seeing as the Knights are, or at least should, be keepers of the peace when there are no JATs on a server. I just don't think that they should use or threaten to use these powers unless all other negotiations have failed. :arcuss: |

Good idea for the points system
The jak access thing, i dunno where u have been but the last week or so ive seen loads of students misbehave. Even with the bit power the jaks have they still do as they like, taking this away will just make the ones that are bad gloat more as there will be nothing we can do. If someone is getting attacked what we gona do, stop plz n if they dont haul our ass on to irc to find a jat if there is one available by which time the ideot will of left or stoped then u will have to sit for an hour explaining to the jat what happend ect ect. Very bad idea
