I've had clearance from Virtue to do this, and that is why I'm posting here A lot of times when I'm on servers, I see newbies asking 'Who's Vladarion?' and always I see lots of people saying what a great guy he was, and how he touched our lives, and sadly, also how he died. Now, we must all face the truth. Maps come and go, and maybe the Shrine won't always be there. That is why I have gotten approval to write an article about Vladarion, which will (hopefully) be put into the Article section of this site. (Content-->Articles (btw  )Of course, I don't know half of all of it, and I want everyone who knew him to say a few words about him, and even throw quotes in here, which Vlad said once. I will try to implement as much as I can in to this article, like quotes from students what they said about him and stuff like that. I'm doing this not only to inform new students, but also for all of us, because everyone who knew him, misses him, without a doubt. I've started this post four or five times already, trying to describe Vlad but I just can't. Theres too much to say. He was a great guy with an awesome sense of humor. Whenever he was on and I logged into the server I knew I was going to have some fun. He had a way about him that made you feel totally comfortable talking with him, even about your real life. He was greatly skilled in the game and always would lend a helping hand to anyone who needed it. I miss him greatly. To Vlad: I miss you brother, I hope whereever you are, your reading this and having a good time. We will meet again some day, until then, Rest Well. Sorry I'm late, but am I too late? I would like to thank all of you for your kind words about Vladarion. Right now I am only waiting for one more input, which is from Hardwired. As soon as he has inputted, and this has been implemented I will pass the Article over to some people who's opinion really matters to me on this subject. I would like their opinion then, and see if they can still input something, edit something, or whatever. Their help might clear out any errors I have in there. My apologies for the lateness in which I am making this post. There is no real way to explain Vladarion. His person incorperated so much that makes any kind of insight to his true being near impossible. Emotion would be the best way of showing just what the man meant to us all, but unfortunatly, we have no way of doing that. In all my years, I have never met anyone quite like him, I don't believe anyone has. He was truly unique, one in a million, a diamond in the rough. It takes one hell of a lot to make someone feel totally comfortable and trusting in your presence, but Vlad seemed to do that with ease, it was in his very spirit. He had a way of making everyone feel better about themselvs, and not just in-game either. That's what he did, reguardless of how he felt about himself, or what he was going through at any given time, Vladarion always put fourth a huge effort to help others, in so many more ways than one. He is now our Ledgend, his name will forever echo through the halls of the Academy, and we will always feel a sense of happyness, security and comfort whenever we hear it. After all, he's still around, we just can't see him. To Vladarion: I know you can see this brother, and I never really got a chance to thank you, for everything. But fear not, we'll hang out again...someday, that I can promise. Untill then, we love you, and you are dearly missed. Man, I remember meeting Vlad. He was very friendly, and even was willing to accept my oftentimes-poor advice. I didn't see him on the servers regularly, but when I got KOTOR and needed help; he volunteered to help me out. I remember around christmas time, I was ending one of our conversations to go visit a ladyfriend. He told me to drive safe...and that was the last thing he said to me. It's unfortunate that something had to happen to him; because I know in my heart that he would have become a great Knight/Trainer. Im sorry to say this but the ONLY time Ive REALY met Vlad was during the ThanksGiving Tourny acutaly the 1st and last time I would've ever talked to him.....I remember it was him and his brother in the semi finals I believe since I DIDNT realy know them both that much I was cheering on both sides......Sadly if I had known that this was goin to happen I woulda put more effort into getin to know my fellow JAS Im sadin by the fact that he was killed on the Holidays.....just hope hes resting in peace.... _______________ Sister to Smily,Axion,and CT Friend to ALL... to be honest my few memories of him are more like dreams. in the sense that when i try to recall the specifics of the events i can't find the right words to articulate the details that made the moment real. all that i can express are emotions of good humor and brotherly bonding. i'm still left with a warm glow when i think back to being around him on the server, even if we were doing nothing but standing on the same light fixture waiting to duel. may his honor and friendship be made real for all who seek it here at the JA. _______________ this is the internet, be serious damn it! |

I remember the first time i met Vladarion on JK2,he stoped in and it was me,Hardwired,Nofrickinfun,and a few others.At the time i was pretty new to dueling,and Vladarion and myself were going at it,and at this time,i was running around swinging once or twice,and i was making a comment here or there.Vlad said hey bro..if you run..you will only die tired..of course i thought that was funny as hell..and of course NFF and the others were laughing really hard,but we all appreciated his humor in my fighting style atm when i was new.Later on we got to talk about dueling,the academy,and other things and became good friends...i still can,t belive hes gone Rest in peace Noble Vladarion..I will never forget you! _______________ I have returned 5/8/08 RIP Vladarion(your in my thoughts and prayers) |

Vladarion started off as my training partner, both on the public servers and in Virtue's Padawan sessions. I couldn't have asked for anyone more patient and dedicated. After a few weeks, our conversations began, conversations on the server, in the chatroom, or hearing eachother's voices in TeamSpeak. What I learned then was his fantastic outlook, his perception of things that made him the great person he was. Life hasn't always been easy for him, but in the end it made him strong. He was raised by his grandparents, which reflected in some of his interests, like his love of country music ("the old stuff, not the new songs"  . His behaviour has already been so well detailed by others here that I feel it's superfluous to add... but I want to share a small story with you.Just a week before his accident, Vladarion and myself had one final talk on our servers, in what still stands as our Academy bar. It was early in the morning for me, which meant it was even earlier in the morning for him: he had stayed up all night, playing. Christmas was approaching, and I had already suggested him something nice: a science fiction game. He loved it. He loved to immerse himself in far-away worlds, but the thing he always came back to wasn't that fantasy realm calling. He came back to us. Whenever he wasn't here, he talked about us. Even his wife told us he always thought about us. Strange? Perhaps, but I find myself pondering about this community a lot as well. The kind of behaviour, morals and outlook on life he provided has spread to a lot of people, including me, in that it makes me want to see the best in everything. In that way, Vladarion had the chance to spread a piece of him before him died, kind of making him live forever. Looking back on that conversation, it was a bit like saying goodbye. But I'm glad I can still say hello to him everyday: we've brought him as close to our hearts as we possibly can in this community, and this document will surely find a way to not only keep him alive in our memories, not just in our daily practice, but in the future as well. Well, I feel like adding another stone to that... As people know Mace Windu and I received the sad news. I felt pretty close to Dennis as he was the very first person to talk to me on the server, explaining me how things work in the JA, things like that. From our very first contact, a strong friendship was born. For few months (OMG so few indeed), we tried to meet on the servers or on TS to chat and play and have fun together. I remember some very good times we had with Janus and Hardwired Dennis was a good man, in all. He was patient and humble, always questioning his own abilities, never satisfied with himself. But he was always kind and mindful for the people around him. Even lamers couldn't make him angry ! But there was also a deep sadness in him, things from his past that had left some hurtful wounds. Dennis knew a lot of European History, among a lot of things in various fields. The first time we spoke on GameVoice, we spent about 4 hours speaking about cultural gaps and common points between USA and France, and truly I never felt closer to any friend than this night. Yes he indeed fitted perfectly in the idea of what a Jedi could be. Honest and honorable, but more important he was human and a humanist. Dennis gave us a lot, mostly because the JA and its members brought him the kind of support he needed. Thus, he was stronger to fight his own demons. How I wish fate could have been different, he deserved to win his inner battle. Man, I miss him so much. For me the JA has changed for ever the day I knew what happened to him. A part of the fun has gone with him. I helped Virtue with the textures for Vladarion's shrine, although I haven't seen it yet. I wish there was something else I could do in memory of Vlad. i had the pleasure of training Vladarion a few times in some one on one sessions. he was astoundingly quick at learning the things i taught him. he always addressed me as master or brother, a title i came to love. Vladarion was and is the epitome of what everyone should aspire to be. He was pure in heart, a true gentleman. i consider it the utmost honor to have known him. |

Well, I met him by fate, I guess. Jedi_Prodigy and I were scheduled to duel for the Thanksgiving Tourney, but time ran out and the randomnator chose me as the 'winner'. I advanced to fight Vlad. I didn't realize that had happened until Vlad went a searching for me on IRC and comments and whatnot. Eventually, he did find me on IRC, and he was respectful and friendly just trying to figure out when we wanted to get this done. I remember getting on the server for that tourney match. He called me his 'brother'. I was pretty baffled at first. I was thinking to myself, "I'm his brot...?" *moment of pause* "Boy, I am not your brother." I laughed at that... I thought it was pretty funny, but I didn't realize what he was getting at until a few days later. Anyway, we fought and he slashed the patooty outta me . He was still very friendly, and even though he still had about 60-70hp left at the end of every match, he didn't bash me or act all big and celebrate and such. Heh, he even called me a tough opponent. Still, he was very friendly and respectful. I immediately admired the guy. I guess I always will. Ah, fate. _______________ Captain Barkeep. |
